Oct. 5 - New Centurion Lounge Opens at New York-JFK
Today, American Express announced it will open its 13th Centurion Lounge at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport in the coming days. The lounge is in Terminal 4 and will be regularly open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time. This will be AmEx's largest Centurion Lounge at more than 15,000 square feet, including two floors and six unique rooms, each inspired by a different New York City landmark or design era. Some of the exciting amenities to look forward to include:
The Equinox Body Lab: A spa and wellness center, offering self-led meditation and stretching sessions using Equinox’s Variis app and vibro-acoustic chairs for pre-flight relaxation.
“1850” Speakeasy Bar: A Prohibition-style bar with fancy cocktails created by Centurion Lounge mixologist Jim Meehan.
Culinary Experience by Ignacio Mattos: An upscale pre-flight dining menu created by New York chef and James Beard Award nominee Ignacio Mattos. To ensure the safety of patrons, the food will be served by AmEx representatives instead of traditional buffet style.
The seating configuration and food service has been arranged to allow for social distancing, so that members can feel comfortable in the lounge. As the fourth Centurion lounge to open in 2020, AmEx isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. And with so many airport lounges still closed, it's exciting to hear that a new Centurion Lounge will be opening at one of the world’s busiest airports.
