World of Hyatt is a popular program, especially since it still maintains an award chart unlike other hotel brands. While there have been some changes over the past year, the loyalty program still uses categories for its various properties. Each category offers a specific range of points to make a redemption, which is helpful for travelers who want to plan ahead and know how many points they need to make a redemption.
Category 4 hotels are in the middle of the award chart and go for between 12,000 and 18,000 points for a standard room. This category can be especially important if you’re a World of Hyatt member or have World of Hyatt Credit Card, because you’re eligible to earn free night certificates that are redeemable at Category 1-4 hotels.

Close to the airport, but with beautiful views of the downtown skyline, this hotel is a great option when visiting Boston. Many rooms have great views of the airport’s runway action, which makes it fun for avgeeks.
Andaz San Diego
Andaz is Hyatt’s upscale design and lifestyle brand, and this hotel hits the mark. It is in the city’s Gaslamp Quarter, which means it can be popular with both tourists and business travelers. Guests are treated to free nonalcoholic minibars, and the rooftop pool adds to the enjoyment in this Southern California city.
Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego
This towering hotel overlooks the waterfront from its guest rooms. As a city resort, it also has a large swimming pool for families plus a separate one for adults. It is within walking distance to numerous local attractions, shopping and dining. Also nearby is the Gaslamp Quarter, which offers great dining and shopping.
Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country
Near San Francisco and California’s Napa Valley, this hotel is located in another famous wine spot, Sonoma Valley. In a region where hotel rates can be quite expensive, the ability to use World of Hyatt points here is a great perk. Explore the region’s wine country or relax by the pool during your stay.
Another one of Hyatt’s luxe design hotels, Thompson Chicago offers views of Lake Michigan from many rooms and is close to the famous Magnificent Mile. Many will enjoy coming here to dine, too, with sustainable seafood and freshly made pasta on the menu at its Italian restaurant. Guests and visitors can earn points on their dining charges here if they present their World of Hyatt number when paying.
This stylish Gold Coast hotel is also close to the Magnificent Mile and Water Tower Place for easy access to shopping and dining. This pet-friendly hotel also has a 24-hour fitness center and a restaurant that first opened nearly a century ago.

Despite the name, the hotel isn't on Waikiki Beach, but it is within walking distance. Many rooms have views of the ocean, and the rooftop pool features shaded lounge chairs as well as others sunken into the pool. While the Hyatt Regency is just across the street from Waikiki Beach, you’ll save points by staying here instead and making the short walk with a towel.
This popular casino resort is close to The Strip and known for excellent entertainment, dining options and splash-worthy pools. You can walk to other hotels nearby or hop the express trams or monorail to get around the area in a jiffy (which is especially helpful on hot summer days).
