Holders of Chase’s Freedom and Sapphire credit cards have another opportunity to score gift cards from popular retailers and restaurants at a 10% or 20% discount through Chase Ultimate Rewards®.

The new promotion is good through May 2018 and offers a 10% discount on gift cards for:

  • Buffalo Wild Wings
  • Chipotle
  • Dell
  • Domino’s
  • Gamestop
  • Google Play
  • Home Depot
  • Krispy Kreme
  • Lowe’s
  • Overstock.com
  • Panera Bread
  • Ulta

Gift cards are available at a 20% discount for:

  • BJ’s Brewhouse
  • Wayfair

The promotion is a follow-up to an offer in March that covered five popular retailers. Cards eligible for the promotion include the  Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, the Chase Freedom® and  the Chase Freedom Unlimited®.

To find the offers, log into your online account and click the “Ultimate Rewards®” button. When you get to your eligible card’s dashboard, scroll down to the “Shop Gift Cards” button. The merchants involved in the promotion will be featured at the top in a carousel. Click the “Choose Options” button beneath the merchant you want and set the amount of the gift card and/or the number of cards you want.

Your gift card options vary by merchant, with minimums of $15 to $25 and a maximum of $100. Keep in mind that you’ll be paying in Chase Ultimate Rewards® points, not cash. For gift card redemptions, your points are worth a penny apiece.

So, for example, at a 10% discount, you’d pay 1,800 points for a $20 Chipotle gift card or 2,250 points for a $25 Dell gift card.

Also keep in mind that gift cards are shipped. You can select free shipping by standard mail — which Chase says will arrive in five to eight days — or rush shipping (three to five days) for a $10 fee, which will be charged to your Chase card. All sales this way are final.

Either way, hurry: Supplies are limited, and the promo is good only in May 2018.

Below is NerdWallet’s article about the earlier promotion, which took place in March 2018.

St. Patrick’s Day and Easter shoppers, take note: Through March 2018, you can score some sweet gift card deals through Chase Ultimate Rewards® if you have cards such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, the Chase Freedom® or the Chase Freedom Unlimited®.

The promotion offers a 10% discount on gift cards for these retailers:

  • iTunes
  • Pottery Barn
  • West Elm
  • Kohl’s
  • J.C. Penney

To find the offers, log into your online account and click the “Ultimate Rewards®” button. When you get to your eligible card’s dashboard, scroll down to the “Shop Gift Cards” button. The five merchants involved in the promotion will be featured at the top in a carousel. Click the “Choose Options” button beneath the merchant you want and set the amount of the gift card and/or the number of cards you want.

For most of the merchants, your gift card options are for $25, $50 or $100 (iTunes has a $10 option). But keep in mind that you’ll be paying in Chase Ultimate Rewards® points, not cash. For gift card redemptions, your points are worth a penny a piece.

So for example, at a 10% discount, you’d pay 900 points for a $10 iTunes gift card or 2,250 points for a $25 Kohl’s gift card.

Also keep in mind that gift cards are shipped. You can select free shipping by standard mail — which Chase says will arrive in five to eight days — or rush shipping (three to five days) for a $10 fee, which will be charged to your Chase card. All sales this way are final.

If you’re interested, you’ll want to hurry. These deals are good only through March and only while supplies last.
