The U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card offers a great bonus cash-back rate on office supplies and telecom services. But it's not the highest around. That honor goes to the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card . You'll get 5% back for the first $25,000 you spend on those combined items each anniversary year (1% thereafter). Even with that cap, you'll still earn more rewards if those expenses cost you less than $50,000 annually.
Want the most rewards, period? Consider the American Express® Business Gold Card . You'll earn 4X on your top two eligible spending categories each month, on the first $150,000 in combined purchases each calendar year (1X thereafter). Terms apply. There are six categories, including U.S. purchases at gas stations and wireless phone providers. This card does have a sizable fee ($375). Also, it earns Membership Rewards® points. Those are worth more if you redeem them for travel. Skip this card if you prefer cash back.

Full review

You get a little bit of everything with the U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card.
This cash-back business card comes with a solid welcome offer, a long intro APR period and a high rewards rate on business-friendly bonus categories. It also has a few extra touches, like a $100 statement credit for recurring software subscriptions and up to 5% back on certain travel expenses when booked through U.S. Bank’s travel portal.
If your business’s spending aligns with its bonus categories — gas, office supplies, cell phone service and restaurants — the Triple Cash is a home run, especially as there is no annual fee. If those categories aren’t a fit, or a travel card is what you’re after, you’ll find a better option elsewhere.

This card is best for:

✔️ Unlimited bonus category cash back.
✔️ Gas, restaurants, office supplies and cell phone services.
✔️ 0% intro APR on balance transfers.

Benefits and perks

Unlimited bonus category cash back

The U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card casts a wide net with its bonus categories. These include:
  • Gas stations.
  • Restaurants.
  • Office supply stores.
  • Cell phone providers.
  • Electric vehicle charging stations.
Eligible purchases earn 3% cash back — with no cap. That's a rare feature among bonus category cash-back cards. If your business spends a lot in these areas, it can reap serious rewards.
You’ll also earn 5% cash back on prepaid hotels and car rentals booked directly in the U.S. Bank Travel Center. All other purchases earn 1% back.

Solid sign-up bonus

To evaluate and compare business card sign-up bonuses, our team looks at the ratio between the potential rewards and spend required to get them. The U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card is surprisingly generous in that regard.
This card’s welcome bonus isn’t the biggest out there (look to the Chase Ink Business Cards for that). But it’s an excellent value given the spend requirement: Earn $500 in cash back. Just spend $4,500 on the Account Owner's card in the first 150 days of opening your account.

Intro APR period

The U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card offers a long intro 0% APR period on purchases and balance transfers. The latter is rare feature for business credit cards — especially ones with the other benefits this card includes. That's why our editorial team picked it as our favorite business card for balance transfers.
In general, a 0% intro APR can help you pay down business debt or finance big purchases interest-free. New cardholders pay no interest on purchases or balance transfers for the first 12 billing cycles. After that, there’s an ongoing variable rate of 17.49%-26.49%.
Note: There is a fee for balance transfers: Either 5% of the amount of each transfer or $5 minimum, whichever is greater.

Drawbacks and alternatives

Must spend in bonus categories to get best rewards

The Business Triple Cash Rewards card’s 1% base rewards rate is lackluster. If your spending is all over the place, or simply not in its bonus categories, you may find better value with a flat-rate card.
The American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card earns 2% back on up to $50,000 in purchases per calendar year (then 1% after that). This card has no annual fee and also offers a 12-month intro APR (terms apply; see ). After that, the APR will be a variable rate of 16.99%-26.99%.
But the Blue Business Cash card lacks extra perks, like the $100 statement credit for software subscriptions. It also has a meager welcome bonus compared with the Business Triple Cash Rewards card.

True maximizers may find greater values

Even if the U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card's categories line up with your spending, you might still be able to extract more value from other cards.
For instance, you can earn a higher rate on office supplies and telecom expenses with the Chase Ink Cash . It will net you 5% back in those categories, on up to $25,000 in combined spend each anniversary year. It earns less than the Triple Cash on gas and restaurants (2%), with the same cap.
Bank of America customers should strongly consider the Bank of America® Business Advantage Customized Cash Rewards Mastercard® credit card . You can choose a category to get 3% cash back on, for up to $50,000 spent each calendar year. Options include gas and EV charging stations. Qualifying for the issuer's Preferred Rewards for Business program can boost that rate to 5.25%.
Minimal travel perks
Casual business travelers will appreciate earning 5% back on hotels and rental cars, even if they have to book through U.S. Bank’s travel portal. But serious road warriors will want a proper business travel card with all the perks — checked bags, airline credits, TSA pre-check, lounge access and the like. The Business Platinum Card® from American Express offers all that and more (albeit for a hefty annual fee). Terms apply.
🤓
Nerdy Tip
The annual fee on your business credit card is tax deductible, provided you use the card exclusively for business purposes.
