AutoCamp has fully arrived as a bookable option through Hilton, with properties near national parks and beaches across the country now live on Hilton.com and the Hilton Honors app.
The latest addition: AutoCamp Asheville, which opened in North Carolina and puts guests within a short drive of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited national park in the country.
The partnership between Hilton and AutoCamp — which offers stays in custom Airstreams, cabins, and adventure tents — is now part of a broader Hilton initiative called Hilton Honors Adventures, alongside a new cruise partnership with Explora Journeys. The idea is to give loyalty members more ways to earn and redeem points beyond a standard hotel room.
What is AutoCamp?
AutoCamp provides upscale accommodations that combine camping experiences with the comfort and design of a boutique hotel.
Guests can stay in:
- Custom-designed Airstreams: An exclusive partnership with Airstream allows AutoCamp to offer stays in its iconic aluminum trailers with modern amenities.
- Cabins: A comfortable and familiar option for those who prefer a more traditional outdoor adventure setting.
- Luxury tents: For a more adventurous option, guests can opt for furnished tents.
Each location includes a central hub called “The Clubhouse,” where guests can order food and beverages from the onsite restaurant or pick up grab-and-go snacks, merchandise, and retail items from a specialty market.
In addition to The Clubhouse, each property includes multiple common areas, communal fire pits, trails and group meeting spaces. Some locations even have swimming pools.
AutoCamp sits somewhere between camping and a boutique hotel. Properties are built around outdoor destinations, but the accommodations themselves are deliberately designed — think vintage Airstream trailers outfitted with modern amenities, architect-designed cabins, and furnished tents. Each location includes a central clubhouse with a restaurant, grab-and-go options, communal fire pits, and shared outdoor spaces.
AutoCamp currently has locations near:
- Yosemite National Park, California.
- Joshua Tree National Park, California.
- Zion National Park, Utah.
- Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
- Catskills, New York.
- Asheville, North Carolina.
- Sequoia, California.
The Asheville property also debuts AutoCamp's new Bambi Suite, a smaller footprint option geared toward solo travelers and couples.
How the Hilton-AutoCamp partnership works
Hilton Honors members are now able to earn or redeem Hilton points for AutoCamp stays at eligible properties.
Hilton Honors members earn 10 points per $1 spent on room rates and eligible charges at AutoCamp properties. Elite members and Hilton co-branded credit cardholders earn at a higher rate.
Members also get on-property perks. At AutoCamp locations, all elite members receive a complimentary bundle of firewood. Gold and Diamond members are eligible for space-available upgrades. Diamond members also get a s'mores kit — which, given the fire pit setup, is genuinely useful.
How much does AutoCamp cost?
Prices start around $200 per night for a luxury tent, though rates climb on weekends and for premium accommodations. A long weekend in a cabin at a higher-demand location can easily run $500+ per night before taxes and fees.
Hilton Honors members would earn at least 15,000 points for the sample booking in Joshua Tree, California. NerdWallet values Hilton Honors points at 0.4 cent, so this stay would earn members at least $60 worth of points toward a future stay.
