Capital One Travel now has its own standalone mobile app, making it easier for cardholders to access the issuer's travel features with fewer clicks.
The new Capital One Travel app launched on March 17, 2026, and is available on Apple's App Store and Google Play. It largely mirrors the “Travel and Lounges” section you can access in the Capital One banking app. Users can book and manage trips purchased through the issuer's travel portal and access information about Capital One and Priority Pass lounges. Capital One is the most recent issuer to launch a dedicated travel app, following the debut of the AmEx Travel app in 2025.
I was invited to check out a pre-release version of the app, and as a Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card holder, I’m a big fan of its convenience. Unlike the Capital One banking app, the new app doesn't require users to log in each time they use it; instead, they can remain signed in for an extended period of time.
What the in-app experience is like
The new app is accessible to Capital One rewards cardholders who have access to the Capital One travel portal.
However, Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card holders will likely benefit the most. The $395-annual-fee card comes with a variety of perks that can be accessed via this new app, including:
- 10 miles per $1 spent on hotels and rental cars when booked through Capital One’s travel portal.
- 5 miles per $1 spent on flights and vacation rentals when booked through Capital One’s travel portal.
- $300 annual travel credit for bookings made through Capital One’s travel portal.
- Complimentary access for primary cardholders to Capital One Lounges and Landings.

The app provides streamlined access to Capital One's travel features, making it a useful companion when you’re traveling on an itinerary booked through the issuer's portal. Previously, Capital One cardholders had to access travel and lounge information by signing in to the Capital One banking app and navigating to the “Travel and Lounges” section, which then led to a separate booking portal.
When you open the Capital One Travel app, you start on the travel booking page, but you can navigate to other sections of the app using the four icons at the bottom of the screen. The app has sections dedicated to booking travel, managing trips, accessing lounges and account details. As far as travel apps go, it doesn’t get much clearer than that.
The pages for booking and managing travel are fairly straightforward, and that’s where you’ll also find information about Capital One’s price watches, which can alert you when prices change. Cardholders can redeem their Capital One miles for bookings, and the app will notify them of flight updates and gate changes while in transit.
Some of my favorite app features are found in the lounges section. There, you can access information about the different Capital One lounges, including locations, hours and wait times.
In this section, you can also find digital lounge passes for both Capital One lounges and Priority Pass locations, which I find very convenient. Instead of showing your physical Capital One credit card or Priority Pass membership card, you can present these digital QR codes to access lounges.
The account details section provides a helpful overview of your Capital One miles balance and any available travel credits. You can also set your travel profile, including information about yourself and others you frequently book travel for. You can also add your hotel and flight preferences, which will help personalize your search results when booking travel.
Who should use this new app?
If you have the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, you should probably have this app on your phone — or at least try it out for a bit.
The app lets you easily book through Capital One’s travel portal and access Capital One lounges, two of the card's primary benefits. I like how convenient it is for cardholders, with easy access to digital lounge passes and a tracker that reminds me how much of my $300 annual travel credit I have left to use.
If you have a different Capital One card, the app can be a useful travel tool if you frequently make bookings through Capital One’s travel portal or are willing to pay a fee to access Capital One’s lounges.
However, if you’re short on storage space or don’t want to deal with another app, remember that all of this information will still be accessible in the Capital One banking app. It’ll just take a few extra clicks to get there.
