Like some other major issuers during the COVID-19 pandemic, Bank of America® is giving eligible credit card holders more time to meet spending requirements for earning sign-up bonuses.

The issuer is providing a 90-day extension for both consumer and small-business accounts opened between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2020, a bank representative confirmed. So if you opened a Bank of America® credit card during that period, you have double the typical time frame in which to snag the card's welcome offer.

Bank of America®'s sign-up bonus extension follows similar moves from both American Express and Chase. All three issuers are offering three-month extensions, although AmEx's policy differs slightly because it applies to eligible card accounts approved from Dec. 1, 2019, through May 31, 2020. Terms apply.

As the coronavirus crisis continues, Bank of America®‎ is also offering relief in other ways, including the refunding of late fees, as well as payment deferrals for 60 days to eligible cardholders who request them via the issuer's coronavirus resource page.
