Fetch, an app and browser extension that rewards purchases with specific retailers, has announced the opening of a waitlist for its new no-annual-fee credit card, the Fetch American Express Card.

Issued by First Electronic Bank and serviced by Imprint, the card will earn points for everyday purchases made outside of the Fetch platform.

If you’ve never heard of Fetch, it has nothing to do with K-9s and everything to do with earning rewards in exchange for photos of your receipts and in-app activities. Your receipts allow the company to provide certain brands, retailers and restaurants with an understanding of consumer purchases.

The waitlist is expected to lift in fall 2025, confirms Rachel Ehrlich, general manager at Fetch. If it does, the Fetch credit card could be appealing as a way to stack rewards if you're already an app user.

Here's what to know about the forthcoming card:

Noteworthy features

Several ways to earn points

The Fetch card will offer a variety of ways to pile up points, as both a cardholder and a user of the Fetch platform.

The card itself will offer:

  • 10 points per $1 on retail and grocery purchases.

  • 5 points per $1 on all other purchases.

  • "Spin and Win" bonus points every time you spend with the card (up to 1,200 bonus points per transaction).

  • Access to American Express network benefits like AmEx Offers, which features discounts and bonus rewards at select merchants. (Enrollment required.)

  • Cardholder-only offers that vary with specific brands or merchants.

As a Fetch user, the app or browser will continue to offer these rewards:

  • Points from submitting photos of your receipts.

  • “Spin and Win” bonus points within the app.

  • Points bonuses when you complete certain tasks like shopping in-store or online, or playing for points with mobile games and apps.

  • Additional points when you spend in promotional categories that change each month.

Redemption options and point values earned will be the same as points earned in the app or browser extension and will vary depending on the option you choose. Generally, 1,000 Fetch points will get you $1 in gift cards. With the Fetch American Express Card, it's expected for points to be redeemable for gift cards, charitable donations, sweepstakes entries and Fetch merchandise.

Eligibility with a minimum 620 credit score

What makes this card stand out as a rewards credit card is that it will be friendly to those with less-than-ideal credit. Once the card launches, you'll be able to qualify with a credit score of 620 or higher, according to Ehrlich, and also know the odds of approval without any initial impact to your credit score. It's not until you officially apply for the card that a standard hard inquiry will be triggered, potentially causing a common but temporary drop in credit scores.

Is it a good option compared to other cards?

If you have less-than-ideal credit, it can be difficult to qualify for rewards credit cards. So in that way, the Fetch credit card is a rarity and, with responsible use, it could help strengthen your credit. But the card carries a potentially high APR — ranging up to nearly 34% as of this writing — so you'll want to make sure you pay off the card's balance in full every month to prevent high interest charges from chipping away at the value of rewards.

Plus, speaking of that value, be aware that points aren't worth very much in the Fetch system. In the example above for gift cards, points would have a value of just one-tenth of a cent each — far, far lower than the industry standard of a full penny per point. Still, if you can amass a large pile of points, then it may be a wash. The card's 10x rate on retail and grocery purchases, combined with points earned from snapping receipts with Fetch, could help you with that. Just be aware that, as of this writing, cash back is not a redemption option.

Also note that the Fetch credit card won't have a 0% intro APR offer or standardized welcome bonus, as you'd expect to find on general-purpose rewards cards — although it will offer Fetch users unique welcome bonuses in the app, Ehrlich shared.
