The promotion described in this article ended in late October 2020. See our details page about the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card for the current bonus offer.
The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card is rethinking its sign-up bonus: Instead of points, you can now earn free nights by reaching a spending minimum.
As of Oct. 1, 2020, new cardmembers can earn five free nights after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. The free nights are valued at up to 50,000 points each, making the bonus effectively worth up to 250,000 points.
Those 50,000 points can cover nights at Category 1-5 Marriott properties year-round, an off-peak or standard booking at a Category 6 property or an off-peak booking at a Category 7 property.
Previously, the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card offered a limited-time bonus of 100,000 points after you spent $3,000 in the first three months.
What’s staying the same
Other than the new sign-up bonus, the benefits of the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card will remain largely unchanged. New and existing cardholders get these perks:
Earn 6 points per $1 spent at over 7,000 participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels.
Earn 2 points per $1 on all other purchases.
A Free Night Award every anniversary year. The award is worth up to 35,000 points, which can be used at Category 1-4 properties year-round or for an off-peak or standard booking at a Category 5 property.
Automatic Silver status every anniversary year, which includes extras like a 10% point bonus on eligible hotel purchases, plus late checkout and free WiFi when available.
Gold status when you spend $35,000 each account year. Gold status offers a 25% point bonus on eligible hotel purchases, room upgrades, bonus points upon check-in and more.
15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year.
The annual fee will continue to be $95, and the card still won't charge foreign transaction fees.
NerdWallet values Marriott Bonvoy points at 0.8 cent each.
