Does your heart skip a beat when your purchases are automatically synced with your bookkeeping? Would it thrill you to know that even your just-made transactions can be tracked within seconds? If so, a new Quicken credit card might be for you.

Issued by U.S. Bank, the $0-annual-fee Quicken® World Mastercard® has several features that can satisfy ardent organizers, including real-time card activity updates via the Quicken mobile app and contactless payment ability — aka "tap-and-go" payment.

Even occasional checkbook balancers can appreciate the wide range of categories eligible for bonus points on the card. The Quicken® World Mastercard® earns:

  • 2X points on recurring bills, including utilities, telephone, cable, club memberships (like athletic clubs, country clubs and private golf courses), and Quicken software subscriptions.

  • 2X points at grocery stores and supermarkets.

  • 2X points on dining, including restaurants, bars and fast food.

  • 1X points on all other qualifying purchases.

"Knowing where your spending is at on a real-time basis — that's only available on this card," says Daniel A. Chen, head of business development at Quicken, who says other cards typically take two or three days to show pending transactions through their mobile apps.

Points can be redeemed for statement credit at a value of one cent per point. For example, 2,500 reward points can be redeemed for a $25 statement credit. Card members can also redeem points for other rewards, including travel, gift cards, event tickets, electronics, apparel and merchandise, but the value of a point may be worth slightly more or less depending on the item.

If you're approved for the Quicken® World Mastercard® and you spend $500 in the first 90 days, you'll get a free one-year subscription for Quicken Deluxe software. If you are already a subscriber, you will receive a one-year extension.

Although the Quicken® World Mastercard® offers elevated rewards on categories not typically found on other cards, you may want to leave it at home if you're planning to travel abroad, as it does charge a foreign transaction fee. But for domestic spending, this card can fast-track you to spreadsheet nirvana with a sizable rewards balance to boot.
