Verizon’s data-only plans give you 4G data access on a tablet, mobile hot spot and other connected devices, such as a smartwatch. These plans typically do not include voice service or text messaging.
Verizon tablet plans
Postpaid plans are billed monthly and typically require a credit check. Verizon charges a monthly account access fee for the data package, plus a monthly line fee for your device ($10 for a tablet, $20 for a mobile hot spot and $5 for a connected device). The prices below do not include the line fee.
You can also add data-only devices to a Verizon family plan. Tablets, laptops and hot spots are an extra $20 per month for unlimited data or $15 per month for 1GB, smartwatches and other connected devices are $10 per month.
Monthly prepaid tablet plans don't require a contract or credit check. You can save $5 per month if you enroll in automatic payments.
How Verizon’s tablet plans compare on price
The table below compares data-only tablet plans, including postpaid and prepaid plans for some of the major carriers. The device access fee is included where applicable.
Some carriers, including Sprint, do not offer data-only plans. Others charge more for data-only plans when used to connect a mobile Wi-Fi hot spot.
Some carriers allow data access for more or less time than the usual monthlong period, which is indicated in the footnotes for this table.
