If you like shopping online, you may be able to earn extra credit card rewards when you buy from your favorite e-tailers. Here’s a look at bonus malls, how they work and three of the best ones around.

What’s a bonus mall?

credit card bonus mall is an online portal that allows you to get extra points or cash back on your online purchases when you use your credit card. Many issuers have bonus malls. You can find out by logging in to your online account or searching for “[issuer name] bonus mall.”

How to use a bonus mall

When you get to the bonus mall site, you’ll need to sign in with your online card account login information. After that, all you need to do is click on the link for the e-tailer of your choice from the list of available online stores. The link will take you to the website where you can earn the extra rewards offered for shopping with that e-tailer. It’s an automatic bonus.

To take advantage of the issuer’s bonus mall, you need to pay with a credit card from that issuer. Make sure your card is eligible for the bonus rewards before you use it, but most rewards cards from a particular issuer should earn extra points or cash back.

Chase Ultimate Rewards and Citi Bonus Cash Center are two of the most popular bonus malls. Here’s what you need to know about each one, along with our top card recommendations.
