Cosmetology jobs are in high demand, so it’s a great time to be in beauty school. If you’re an enrolled cosmetology student or if you’re planning to attend beauty school, check out these scholarships to help fund your education.

Beauty Changes Lives Scholarship
Beauty Changes Lives is a non-profit initiative that raises awareness of how careers in the hair, beauty and wellness industry transform lives both personally and professionally. Together with The American Association of Cosmetology Schools and their partners, the organization funds this scholarship for students in the field of cosmetology, esthetics, nails, barbering or massage. To qualify, you must be accepted to (but not enrolled in) a qualified cosmetology school. The award amount is $2,000.

PBA/NCA Sally Beauty Scholarship
Administered by the PBA/NCA Sally Beauty Scholarship Fund, this scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to students who desire to pursue a career in cosmetology. To qualify, you must be a graduating high school senior or GED holder who plans to enroll in cosmetology school. The average award amount is $1,000.

The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation
This scholarship was founded in honor of Joe Francis, an entrepreneurial barber who built an empire by focusing on bringing outstanding hair care to consumers. Its aim is to provide students with financial assistance as they complete the training necessary for a career in cosmetology. The award amount is $1,000 and is paid directly to the enrolled school for tuition.

Minerva Beauty Cosmetology Scholarship
Administered by the Professional Beauty Association and funded by Minerva Beauty Company, this scholarship is designed for students currently enrolled in cosmetology school. To qualify, you must have completed at least one semester and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. The award amount is $1,000.

NCEA Esthetician Scholarship
The National Coalition of Estheticians, Manufacturers/Distributors and Associations funds this scholarship, which provides financial aid to students enrolled in esthetician-only training programs. To qualify, you must be halfway through the program and maintain an 80% attendance and 80% grade average. The award amount is $1,000.

PBA/NCA Sally Beauty Scholarship for PBA/NCA Section Members
This scholarship is funded by Sally Beauty Supply and administered by the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) and National Cosmetology Association (NCA). To be eligible, you must be a current member of the NCA and PBA. Average award amounts are $500.

Alice Madden Barton Scholarship
Administered by the Great Clips. Inc., this scholarship is for graduating high school seniors or students enrolled in cosmetology or barbering school. Its aim is to provide financial assistance to students who exhibit passion for cosmetology and intend to pursue a career in the industry. Average award amounts are $500.

Kathy Jager “Education Rocks” Scholarship
Funded by Kathy Jager & Association, this scholarship is open to all beauty school students and professionals. To qualify, you must provide proof of registration in a cosmetology class or school. Average award amounts are $250.

More ways to pay

The scholarships on this list are all great ways to help pay for college. But be sure to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid so you get other sources of financial aid, too.
