The hard part about most hotel loyalty programs is committing to one hotel chain.
But with the Hotels.com rewards program, travelers can earn status no matter what hotel they book. And now, Hotels.com is revamping the program to bring Gold and Silver status holders VIP exclusives in addition to one free night for every 10 qualifying nights booked.
With the updates to the program, Silver and Gold members now have access to a curated list of hotels, called VIP Access properties, that are highly rated by customers. These hotels all have 3-star ratings or above, and include hotels like the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore and The Jefferson in Washington D.C.
Gold and Silver members are also offered bonus amenities at properties that show a gift box icon when you’re booking. Optional amenities could include free breakfast, complimentary wine, airport transfers and spa vouchers. Each property decides what it offers, and unlike VIP Access hotels, there isn’t a minimum rating designation.

Both Gold and Silver members also get priority customer service and special sales access two weeks after qualifying. Gold members at participating hotels receive complimentary room upgrades, early check-in and late check-out.
How do you become an elite status holder? Book at least 10 nights in one calendar year (a 12 month period that begins the month you sign up) to achieve Silver status, and at least 30 nights to achieve Gold status. Status must be re-earned every year, and if you don’t requalify, you are moved down one tier. As long as you redeem one free night you’ve collected in a calendar year, you won’t lose any additional free nights.
