The Miles & More® World Elite Mastercard®, Lufthansa airline's loyalty-program card in the U.S., offers potentially valuable benefits if you fly where the airline and its Miles & More partners can take you: Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The $89-annual-fee card comes with an annual companion ticket for a traveling partner, but you have to pay taxes and fees, which can be high.
It also comes with a sign-up bonus: Earn 50,000 award miles if you spend $3,000 in purchases and pay the annual fee, both within the first 90 days.. But the card's spending rewards are lacking for use as an everyday payment tool, offering 2 award miles per $1 spent on ticket purchases directly from Miles & More integrated airline partners and 1 mile per $1 spent on everything else.
If you spread around your flying among different airlines, a general travel card might be more rewarding.
