The Chase Freedom® rewards cardholders with 5% cash back in rotating quarterly categories, on up to $1,500 in spending per quarter. All other purchases earn 1% cash back. To receive the 5% rewards, you have to opt in to the bonus categories each quarter. But don't panic if you forget to do it at the start of a quarter — you'll receive retroactive rewards as long as you opt in by the 14th day of the third month of the quarter (March 14, June 14, Sept. 14 and Dec. 14).
Want more rewards? The Chase Freedom® has a signup bonus: Earn a $200 Bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening. There's also a $25 cash bonus if you add an authorized user and make a purchase in the first three months.
If you need some time to pay off a large purchase or you want interest relief while paying down current debt, the Chase Freedom® has an introductory APR of 0% intro APR for 15 months on purchases, and then the ongoing APR of 14.99% - 23.74% Variable APR.
