NerdWallet adheres to strict standards of editorial integrity to help you make decisions with confidence. Some of the products we feature are from partners. Here’s how we make money.
The American Airlines AAdvantage MileUp℠ Card earns 2 AAdvantage miles per $1 spent on eligible American Airlines purchases and 2 miles for each $1 spent at grocery stores, including grocery delivery services, all for an annual fee of $0.
All other spending earns 1 mile per $1 spent.
Still, the card lacks some of the extras that typically come with co-branded airline cards; most notably, you won’t get a free checked bag, priority check-in or priority boarding. If you tend to fly at least a few times a year, you might fare better with another card.
