We believe everyone should be able to make financial decisions with
confidence. While we don't cover every company or financial product on
the market, we work hard to share a wide range of offers and objective
editorial perspectives.
So how do we make money? Our partners compensate us for advertisements that
appear on our site. This compensation helps us provide tools and services -
like free credit score access and monitoring. With the exception of
mortgage, home equity and other home-lending products or services, partner
compensation is one of several factors that may affect which products we
highlight and where they appear on our site. Other factors include your
credit profile, product availability and proprietary website methodologies.
However, these factors do not influence our editors' opinions or ratings, which are based on independent research and analysis. Our partners cannot
pay us to guarantee favorable reviews. Here is a list of our partners.

NerdWallet's content is fact-checked for accuracy, timeliness and
relevance. It undergoes a thorough review process involving
writers and editors to ensure the information is as clear and
complete as possible.
NerdWallet's ratings are determined by our editorial team. The scoring formula takes into account the type of card being reviewed (such as cash back, travel or balance transfer) and the card's rates, fees, rewards and other features.
Starting Oct. 7, 2025, new cardholders can earn the following: 100,000 bonus Points after spending $6,000 in the first 3 months of account opening. That's 20,000 more points than the card’s previous offer, although the spending requirement is also higher. (When the card first launched, new customers who applied and were approved for the card at a physical Citi retail branch may have been eligible for a higher bonus.)
It's uncommon for a card to increase its welcome bonus so significantly after being on the market for only a few months. The $595-annual-fee Citi Strata Elite℠ Card launched in July 2025.
Beyond the welcome bonus, the card’s ongoing rewards and benefits remain unchanged. It earns the following in ThankYou points:
12 points per $1 on hotels, car rentals and attractions booked on cititravel.com.
6 points per $1 on air travel booked on cititravel.com.
6 points per $1 at restaurants (including food delivery services on “Citi Nights”) on Fridays and Saturdays between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Eastern Time. Outside of this timeframe, you’ll earn 3 points per $1 in this category.
1.5 points per $1 on all other purchases.
Points earned with the card are most lucrative — they’re worth 1 cent each — when redeemed for travel through Citi. When redeemed for cash back, points are worth 0.75 cent each. And for other redemption options like gift cards and purchases at participating retailers and more, point values vary.
You can also transfer points to Citi's hotel and airline partners, including American Airlines, generally at a 1:1 ratio.
