The beloved Shop Your Way Mastercard is getting a new life.
In 2025, it was announced that the unique card, originally launched as a partnership between Citi and Sears, was going away. Now, a new version is launching, and the makeover includes a new name, new issuer and new reward categories.
The new Shop Your Way 5321 Visa Credit Card is launching in partnership with the credit card management and servicing company Fidem Financial and issuer First Bank & Trust. It will be open for applications on Nov. 14, 2025.
The Shop Your Way 5321 card will offer many of the same benefits the previous card version did, including elevated gas and dining rewards, and bonus points for shopping with Shop Your Way merchants. Plus, the new version will earn rewards on travel spending and will give cardholders the option to redeem rewards for statement credit — features that the prior version did not offer.
Note that this is a separate card from the previous Citi-issued Shop Your Way Mastercard. Holders of that original card will automatically be moved to the Citi ThankYou Mastercard and enrolled in the Citi ThankYou Rewards program on Nov. 3, 2025. To get the new Shop Your Way 5321 card, you must apply for it directly, regardless of whether you had the previous version.
Shop Your Way 5321 Card: Basics
Annual fee: $0.
Welcome bonus: Bonus offers will vary.
Rewards:
5% back in Shop Your Way points on eligible gas, EV charging and everyday transportation purchases. (Everyday transportation purchases include public transit, taxis, rideshare, car washes, parking and tolls.)
3% back in points on dining, groceries and travel. (Travel includes airfare, hotels, cruises, car rental, timeshares and travel agencies.)
2% back in points on eligible Shop Your Way merchant purchases.
1% back in points on all other purchases.
As was the case with the older Shop Your Way card, points have a very low individual value: 1,000 points are equal to $1 that you can redeem in eligible places, meaning points are worth 0.1 cent each. That's well below the industry standard of a full penny per point. However, you also get a lot more points per dollar spent than is typical with other cards. For example, "1% back in points" is equivalent to 10 points per dollar spent, and "5% back in points" means 50 points per dollar spent.
Should I get the new Shop Your Way card?
On the plus side, the updated Shop Your Way card includes EV charging and everyday transportation purchases among its 5x categories, plus it now earns elevated rewards on travel spending. In addition, unlike the previous version, there's no cap on any of its reward categories, and cardholders can also now redeem rewards for statement credit, not solely for in-store or online Shop Your Way purchases or things like gift cards.
But a major reason that the previous Shop Your Way Mastercard was so beloved was because of its recurring limited-time bonuses — which often offered existing customers upwards of 15% cash back. It’s unclear whether the new version will feature similarly lucrative bonuses, but Shop Your Way says there will be limited-time offers.
