Nashville is the hometown of country music, and it’s also well-known for its love of honky-tonk and bluegrass.
Among the many bars, breweries and cowboy hat shops is a scattering of name-brand hotels. I recently stayed at one of these, the Grand Hyatt Nashville, and it was better than I expected.
Here's what you should know.
Booking
As a Hyatt hotel, I had a couple of different options when it came to booking. The Grand Hyatt Nashville is a Category 5 hotel, which means it would have cost me a total of 60,000 points if I wanted to redeem them for my three-night stay.
Because NerdWallet values World of Hyatt points at 1.8 cents each, I instead chose to pay cash. This was a far better deal. I’m registered with Hyatt Leverage, a program aimed at small business owners that grants them discounts on bookings.
As a result, I was able to book the three nights at a rate of $296 per night. After taxes and fees, this came to a total of about $344 per night and $1,033 overall.
I’m happy I chose to pay cash. I earned 5,785 World of Hyatt points for my stay, which is worth more than $120 on its own.

Location
Nashville is a fairly large city, with a population of nearly 700,000 people. You wouldn’t think so — especially as a tourist — since most of the action takes place along Broadway, a walkable thoroughfare rife with restaurants, bars, music and breweries.
The Grand Hyatt Nashville is excellently located on Broadway itself, though just removed from the heart of the action. This meant that I was able to walk a few minutes to reach everything, but I wasn’t forced to suffer through loud music late into the night.

Accommodation
I was planning this trip as part of a birthday celebration with a friend, which meant I wanted our room to be special.
I have Globalist elite status with Hyatt thanks to a copious number of Las Vegas stays, which means I earned four suite upgrade awards for this year.
Although my stay was only three nights, I used one of these upgrades to ensure that we had a suite during our stay.
🤓 Nerdy Tip
The Grand Hyatt Nashville is pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your four-legged friend along. Just note that a pet fee is required and there are weight restrictions in place. It was worth it! The room itself consisted of a separate bar, seating area and bedroom, with a large bathroom and dressing area off to the side.
Unfortunately, it was dark when I arrived, which meant I didn't have the best lighting for the photos.
However, this did make for an absolutely spectacular evening view.

Food and beverage
As a Globalist member, I received complimentary access to the club lounge. It was here that breakfast was served.
Breakfast included fresh fruit, yogurt, smoothies, pastries and a rotating selection of hot dishes.
The lounge was open throughout the day and served snacks in the afternoon.
In the evening, hors d'oeuvres were available as well as a selection of wine, beer and mixed drinks. I made sure to try out all the different foods on offer.
The result? It was one of the better executive lounges out there, with fresh, flavorful foods during mealtimes and prepared snacks otherwise.
While I didn’t try out the lobby bar (thanks to all my free drinks in the lounge), it was visually very appealing.
The Grand Hyatt Nashville is also home to a few other dining options, including:
- The Nashville Grange (open for breakfast, lunch and dinner).
- Lou/na (open every evening with live music on the weekends).
- The Continental (open for weekend brunch and dinner on select nights).
- The Vesper Club (open Wednesday to Sunday in the evening).

Amenities
Although the Grand Hyatt is located smack dab in the middle of Nashville, it’s clear that this is a hotel that caters to business travelers. Amenities like the pool and gym were nice, but it doesn't have stand-alone experiences that would entice a resort crowd or leisure travelers. Meanwhile, it has capacity for large-scale business conferences.
Pool
I visited the Grand Hyatt Nashville in February, which meant I had no intention of bringing my bathing suit. However, such a choice was a shame, as the weather was mild and the outdoor swimming pool was very nice.
It was absolutely deserted during my visit, which came as no surprise. However, during the warmer days of summer, I can imagine this being a wonderful way to spend the day — especially when the pool bar is open.
Gym
I also paid a short visit to the gym to check out the equipment.
There was a decent variety of options, including an entire wall of treadmills.
There were also Peloton bikes and free weights located in one corner.
Meeting space
There was a huge conference going on during the time my friend and I visited the Grand Hyatt Nashville, which meant I didn’t wander into the meeting rooms.
However, Hyatt’s website notes that there's 84,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, so if you’re looking to hold a conference or event here, there’s more than enough room.

How to get to the Grand Hyatt Nashville
Nashville is easy to access from most anywhere within the United States.
The Nashville International Airport (BNA) is located about 15 minutes from downtown, which makes it simple to grab a taxi or rideshare to your hotel. This is the case for the Grand Hyatt Nashville, where I spent $21.90 and 17 minutes in a rideshare from the airport to the property.
With over 100 direct flights into Nashville’s airport from all the major U.S. airlines and low-cost carriers, odds are that you’ll be able to find a suitable flight with ease.

If you’re looking to stay at the Grand Hyatt Nashville
The Grand Hyatt Nashville isn’t likely the first destination that comes to mind when envisioning a visit to Music City. There’s nothing country about it; instead, it caters to business travelers looking for Southern elegance and charm.
Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thanks to its central location, I was able to easily access all the amenities of downtown with none of the noise.
And with the excellent food available in the lounge, I’d definitely return again.
