The Chase Ultimate Rewards® program is gaining a new airline transfer partner — and it’s especially good news for East Coast travelers.

On Aug. 27, 2018, Chase and JetBlue Airways will announce the addition of the airline’s loyalty program, TrueBlue, to the list of travel partners for eligible Chase credit card holders.

If your card earns Ultimate Rewards® points that can be transferred at a 1:1 ratio to travel partners, you may already have started to see TrueBlue on your Chase portal as a transfer option, Chase confirms.

Here’s what eligible cardholders should know:

  • You’ll be able to transfer Ultimate Rewards® points to JetBlue TrueBlue in 1,000-point increments at a 1:1 ratio. For example, you could transfer 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards® points into 50,000 JetBlue TrueBlue points.

  • With JetBlue, you’ll get a steady value, no matter your route. Because JetBlue award prices correlate with cash prices, you’ll generally get a similar value out of each point regardless of how you redeem, when redeeming for airline tickets. JetBlue TrueBlue points are worth 1.4 cents each on average, according to NerdWallet valuations.

  • JetBlue offers plenty of award availability. JetBlue, which got its start on the East Coast and has multiple hubs there, is notable for its high award seat availability. It boasted the fourth-highest award seat availability among 24 airlines surveyed, according to a 2018 airline reward seat availability survey by the consulting firm IdeaWorksCompany, sponsored by CarTrawler. Aside from domestic flights, JetBlue also offers service to locations in the Caribbean, Mexico and South America.

The addition of JetBlue TrueBlue as a 1:1 transfer partner follows recent news of Chase parting ways with Korean Air SKYPASS.
