5 Best Transferable Points Currencies and Who They Partner With

Through partnerships, you can turn your credit card points into hotel points or airline miles.

Many or all of the products featured here are from our partners who compensate us. This may influence which products we write about and where and how the product appears on a page. However, this does not influence our evaluations. Our opinions are our own. Here is a list of our partners and here's how we make money.

For many people, banking miles and points in a transferable currency is a way to protect yourself against devaluations from hotel or airline rewards programs. If you have transferable points, then you have more flexibility in where you can use your points. For example, if you want to book an award ticket on United and you have American Express Membership Rewards points, you could transfer those points to Air Canada, ANA, Avianca or Singapore Airlines because all these airlines are part of Star Alliance.

If you’re confused, we’ve compiled a list of all the major transferable points currencies and which airlines and hotels the programs partner with. Which program you want to use will depend on a variety of factors, including how much of each currency you have available.
