Just because a broker pays you to open an account doesn’t make it the best place to invest.
In the long run, that money isn’t nearly as important as finding a broker with great tools, low fees, a wide investment selection and quality customer service. So here, I’ve outlined the best brokers with the best bonuses.
Our 2026 list of the best brokerage bonuses
The two best brokers that offer cash bonuses are Webull and Public. Webull currently offers a higher reward, but Public’s app is much better, and that will likely benefit you more.

Webull will appeal to the mobile-first generation of casual investors with its slick interface for desktop and mobile apps. The brokerage also delivers an impressive array of tools for active traders and a wide investment selection, including stocks (plus fractional shares), options, ETFs, crypto, commodities and futures. However, it lacks access to mutual funds.
What you get:
Deposit $2,000 or more: 3% match
Deposit $100,000 or more: 4% match
Example: Deposit $10,000, earn $300.
Fine print:
Matches are capped at $80,000.
When you get the money: Paid in six annual installments (ending in 2031).
Webull is a good broker that offers a pretty outstanding broker promotion as long as you’re not in a rush to get your money. Currently, Webull is offering a 3% match on deposits of $2,000 or more and 4% matches on deposits of $100,000 or more. These matches are capped at $80,000.
Webull's bonus is high, but it takes six years to earn it
The catch is that these are paid in six annual installments (yes, you read that right, ending in 2031).
The payments are also on a percentage basis. The first payment in 2026 is only 2% of the total offer bonus. The second payment is 18% and the next four payments are 20%.
That means if you sign up now with $10,000, you’ll receive $6 this spring. Next year you’ll receive $54, and from 2028 to 2031 you’ll receive $60 each year.
This timeframe can make Webull’s offer feel a lot less attractive for smaller balances, but it may be worthwhile for larger balances. Webull’s max reward is $80,000 (requiring a deposit of $2 million). Your payouts would be $1,600 for the first year, $14,400 for the second and $16,000 for the next four years. That’s not a bad annual treat.
As a topline number, Webull has a great reward. But if you want to get your cash sooner, E*TRADE has comparable payouts (up to about a $5,000 deposit), and you get your money within seven business days rather than several years. Unfortunately, we don't think E*TRADE is as good of a broker. It's all about what you're looking for. For more information on payment schedules, check out the full table below.
One other con about Webull’s bonus? The broker frequently changes it. Make sure you read the fine print before you sign up with Webull to ensure you can get the bonus you’re looking for.
Why Webull is a great broker
As far as brokers go, Webull is a pretty solid option. Webull received a perfect score from our testers for its UX and platform, and now offers access to crypto, advanced trading features and paper trading to help you practice investing before you use real money.
That being said, one of our editors noted that Webull’s app feels more crowded than it did a few years ago. With all the new features there’s not as much white space that usually makes for a clean mobile experience. This may seem like a small thing in comparison with Webull’s great features, but a frustrating app experience can ruin even the best offerings.

Public provides free stock and ETF trades, pays you to trade options, and gives traders access to crypto and bonds, as well as a high-yield cash account. The platform will appeal to traders looking for a low-cost options broker and access to many types of assets.

Public may currently be the best broker with a decent bonus. Public offers a better overall app than Webull, and Investing Managing Editor Chris Davis recently named Public as the best app for building a well-diversified portfolio.
Public's app is phenomenal
Public has a lot to offer: An excellent index-building tool so you can create a custom list of investments based on your own criteria, options rebate payments between $0.06 and $0.18 per trade (the only broker we review to offer that) and access to crypto right in your brokerage account. One of our reviewers found Public’s app not only easy to use, but also used words like “classy” and “refined” to describe the experience.
Deposits don't qualify for the bonus
Public offers a 1% uncapped match on account transfers, but not deposits. This alone will disqualify a lot of potential investors from this offer. This offer is, however, particularly good for investors who are planning to contribute large sums to the account, or may be planning to switch brokers completely. Plus, Public has maintained this offer for some time. While Webull often changes its bonus structure, Public’s has remained consistent, meaning it will likely be there later if you want to take your time in choosing a broker.
You get your reward right away
To be clear, this promotion isn’t the best bonus as a percentage, but it is better if you want cash faster than what Webull offers and you're looking for an excellent broker. For example, if you deposited $10,000, you’d get $6 in a few months from Webull (with more over the next few years) but you’d get $100 pretty much right away from Public if you transferred that amount in from another brokerage (they say to expect the match to take up to 7 days after your transfer goes through).

Public's mobile and web platforms offer a smooth sign-up, funding and trading experience, but are fairly basic when it comes to tools like charts and screeners.

Public's iOS and Android apps are both well-liked by users and offer virtually the same features as the web trading platform.

Moomoo offers free stock and option trades in an easy-to-use trading platform that charges low margin rates. It's not built for passive retirement investors — IRAs aren't supported, nor are mutual funds — but there's a lot to like about Moomoo for more active traders.
What you get:
$500+: $30 in NVDA
$2k+: $100 in NVDA
$10k+: $200 in NVDA
$50k+: $400 in NVDA
$100k+: $1,000 in NVDA
Example: Deposit $10,000, earn $200 in NVDA.
Fine print:
FOP or or ACATS transfers are not eligible for the bonus.
When you get the money: Must maintain average assets of initial deposit or more for 60 days to unlock stocks.
Some brokers offer a stock bonus instead of a cash bonus, and for the most part, these offers are simply not worth it. Typically the broker states a range of stock value you can win, but the probability of receiving the lowest reward is extremely high. The one exception to this is Moomoo. Moomoo offers a clear range of stock bonuses: For example, if you deposit over $500 into a new account you earn $30 in NVDA stock. If you deposit over $10,000 you earn $200 in NVDA stock.
No IRA or mutual fund access
Moomoo isn’t the best for retirement investors since it doesn’t offer IRAs or access to mutual funds (though it does offer ETFs), but it is a solid option for active traders thanks to the following features:
Low fees for advanced trading strategies: Active traders may appreciate Moomoo’s free equity options trades and low margin rates. These fees can stack up if you’re trading frequently.
Some international access: Moomoo gives investors access to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and some Chinese stocks for a modest fee.
Moomoo's app is just ok
Moomoo offers a decent app, but it’s not as good as many of the other apps we review. If an ultra-smooth trading experience is important to you, you may want to look elsewhere.

E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley has long been one of the most popular online brokers. The company's $0 commissions and strong trading platforms appeal to active traders, while intermediate investors benefit from a large library of educational resources.

$20k: $300
$100k: $600

$5m: $10,000
Example: Deposit $10,000, earn $150.
Fine print:
You have to deposit money within 60 days.
When you get the money: Within seven days of depositing.
If you're looking to make some extra cash, E*TRADE pays its bonus out fast. You won't make as much past a certain threshold (if you have more than $5,000 to deposit and can wait on the money, Webull will pay you more over time), but you'll have cash in hand in days rather than months or years.
E*TRADE is good, not great
E*TRADE scores well on most of the basics: It has a low account minimum, no fees, great customer service and a good amount of investable assets. Unfortunately, E*TRADE doesn't offer access to crypto.
E*TRADE is a popular broker, but in our testing it didn't score as well as competitors for its trading platform. I found it to be sufficient but not super intuitive to use. If you're new to investing, you may find it confusing.

Broker bonuses with the fine print explained
Most promotions come with pretty important fine print. For example, Webull pays its bonus over six years. Public's offer is only valid on transfers. Sure, TradeStation will give you $50 for depositing $500, but it'll take 10 months to receive the money.
Make sure you check out the details and know what you're getting yourself into before you get excited about a potential bonus.

How brokerage bonuses work
The best bonus for you will depend on how much money you have to deposit or transfer.
Most brokers that offer promotions will do so in exchange for a set deposit amount — the more you're willing to deposit, the greater the promotion available to you. However, there are some brokerage firms that set the bar lower — for example, offering a bonus simply for placing your first trade. As always, be sure to read the fine print on the brokerage firm's website to ensure you qualify for the offer.
Offer timelines and payout timelines
Some brokers change their promotions extremely often, others hold onto their promotions for a while. Make sure you’re opening your account within the timeframe that would allow you to take advantage of the particular promotion you’re looking at.
Some bonuses are paid out over a year, others are paid out over several years. Many require you keep the deposit amount in your account for a set amount of time before you receive the bonus. Keep an eye on the payout schedule — earning $50 sounds great, but if you have to wait 10 months to get the money it may not be worth it.
Stock vs. cash promotions
It's worth noting that when companies offer stock promotions, it's likely the company advertises the highest potential reward, but the reality is there's a very small chance you'll actually get that amount. For example, when brokers offer stock bonuses, they provide a high and low range for the dollar amount in stocks you might receive, but most of those promos state that there is a less than 1% chance of receiving the highest dollar value. This is why for the most part we recommend cash bonus rewards.
How do we review brokers?
All NerdWallet reviews and lists of the best investing products are created by our editorial team of full-time writers and editors, independent of any business relationships. In this case, our investing team's comprehensive review process evaluates and ranks the largest U.S. brokers by assets under management, along with emerging industry players. Our aim is to provide an independent, balanced assessment of brokerages to help arm you with information to make sound, informed judgments on which ones will best meet your needs. Our highest priority is maintaining editorial integrity.
We collect data directly from brokerages through detailed questionnaires, and conduct first-hand testing and observation through demonstrations. The questionnaire answers, combined with demonstrations, interviews of personnel at the brokerages and our specialists’ hands-on research, fuel our proprietary assessment process that scores each broker's performance across more than 20 factors. The final output produces star ratings from poor (one star) to excellent (five stars).
