This is one of the best business cards for bad credit. With no annual fee, this card let you establish a business trade line without having to pay to do so.

NerdWallet Rating

4.4

Annual Fee

This card is currently not available to apply for through NerdWallet.
Most business credit cards require at least good personal credit (a FICO score above 690). The Capital One® Spark® Classic for Business is an exception. Business owners with fair credit (FICO scores between 630 and 689) may qualify. You won't get great rewards with this card. But it can let you tap into an unsecured credit line without paying an annual fee.
This card is currently not available to apply for through NerdWallet.

How we choose the best no annual fee business credit cards

NerdWallet's editorial team has looked at almost 70 business credit cards in 2025. For this page, we eliminated any that charged an annual fee. Some cards waive this fee your first year or if you meet a spending threshold. These weren't eligible either. We wanted options that are always free for business owners to carry.
From there, our writers and editors evaluated the remaining cards. We looked at more than a dozen factors to do this, including:
  • Welcome bonus.
  • Base reward rate.
  • Bonus category reward rates.
  • Intro APR period.
Use our star ratings as a guide. We certainly consider some business cards to be more valuable overall than others. But since these all have no annual fee, it's hard to not get your money's worth.
Business cards that earn 5 stars are considered exceptional. These cards are best-in-class and deliver the most value for the greatest number of business owners.
Business cards that earn 4.0 to 4.9 stars are good to excellent. They deliver excellent value and might be the best choice for certain businesses, depending on your needs and spending habits.
Business cards that earn 3.0 to 3.9 stars are fine business cards. You'll get some value out of using them, to be sure, but there are other cards that offer better rewards.
Business cards that earn below 3 stars are considered subpar and would generally not be recommended by NerdWallet.

What no annual fee business credit cards we consider

Our editorial team focuses on business credit cards widely available to business owners. Most major issuers have at least one card with no annual fee. Often, they have more than that. (Almost all Bank of America business credit cards have no annual fee, for instance.)
We do research niche cards. But our writers and editors may not fully evaluate these options because of their more limited availability. A regional business card may make sense for you. Jump to how to compare no annual fee cards to find the right fit.

What rewards do no annual fee business cards offer?

Most no annual fee business cards offer cash-back rewards. That means they give you a percentage back for every dollar you spend.
For instance, the Chase Ink Business Unlimited offers unlimited 1.5% cash back on each purchase. Spend $1,000 and you'll get $15 in rewards. Other cards vary cash-back rates by purchase — like 3% at gas stations, but 1% elsewhere.
Some cash-back business cards have annual fees. But you can get an excellent card without one. That may not be the case if you want rewards like points or miles.
Many of the best business travel cards charge annual fees. These costs may be hundreds of dollars. (The American Express Business Platinum is the most expensive we cover at $895. Terms apply.)
🤓
Nerdy Tip
You can deduct the annual fee on your business credit card if you use the card exclusively for business purposes. (Which you should.)

What other benefits do no annual fee business cards include?

You can extract a lot of value from a no annual fee business card. For example, it's common for these cards to include an intro APR period. This can let you avoid interest on new purchases (and potentially, balance transfers) for a set period of time.
Among our top picks, the following currently have such offers:
  • Bank of America® Business Advantage Customized Cash Rewards Mastercard® credit card.
  • Bank of America® Business Advantage Travel Rewards World Mastercard® credit card.
  • Ink Business Cash® Credit Card.
  • Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card.
  • The American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card.
  • The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express.
  • U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card.
  • Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash® Card.
All the cards above also include welcome bonuses. The Brex Card does, too. Issuers provide non-monetary features as well. Employee cards, fraud alerts and purchase protection are common among all business cards. They don't depend on whether you pay a fee or not.

How do no annual fee and fee-based business cards differ?

Simply put, business cards with annual fees include more stuff. Issuers aim to justify the cost by amping up a card's overall "value" with things like:
  • Higher reward rates.
  • Bigger welcome bonuses.
  • Statement credits for purchases with certain vendors (Google, Dell, Indeed, etc.).
  • Automatic elite status with hotels or car rental companies.
  • Airport lounge access.
Of course, such extras may or may not help your business. Things that definitely would? Paying a fee won't improve those.
For instance, fee-based cards don't have higher credit limits or better APRs by default. You won't necessarily get a longer intro APR period or better security features either.

Are there no-fee business credit cards?

A no-fee business card may refer to a business credit card without an annual fee. But even these cards still have other costs, like:
  • Interest charges. You'll owe the ongoing APR on any balance you carry month-to-month. Corporate cards may not charge interest. But that's because you have to pay in full each billing cycle.
  • Foreign transaction fees. Most no annual fee business cards have these for overseas purchases. Notable exceptions are the Capital One Spark Cash Select (see ) and the Bank of America® Business Advantage Travel Rewards World Mastercard® credit card.
  • Balance transfer fees. You'll have to pay if you want to consolidate debt. Here are our picks for the best balance transfer cards for business owners.
  • Cash advance fees. These short-term loans are notoriously expensive. You'll pay a fee, like the greater of $15 or 5% of the advance amount. Plus, your advances may have a higher APR than your outstanding balance.
  • Penalty fees. These include charges for things like paying late or having a payment returned to you.
Consider how you'll use your card to determine the right fit. Ultimately, paying a higher APR or more in foreign transaction fees can make a no annual fee card more expensive than other options.

Who can get a no annual fee business credit card?

Most business credit cards require at least good personal credit to qualify. That's typically a FICO score starting at 690. No annual fee options aren't an exception to that rule. But there are a couple options (the Bank of America® Business Advantage Unlimited Cash Rewards Mastercard® Secured credit card and Capital One® Spark® Classic for Business) we'd recommend if your credit score is lower.
Your business performance matters less for approvals. You may be eligible even if you have little revenue or are just starting out. In fact, no annual fee options are great cards for new businesses. There's no point paying a fee until you're positive the rewards outweigh that cost. That may not happen until you're fully up and running.

Should you get a business credit card with no annual fee?

There's little downside to getting a business credit card with no annual fee. The question is more about their upside — especially if you want to maximize rewards. In some cases, you can earn more with a card with a higher annual fee.
For instance, consider the Capital One Spark Cash Select vs. the Capital One Spark Cash.
The Capital One Spark Cash Select has a $0 annual fee and earns unlimited 1.5% cash back (see ). The annual fee on the Capital One Spark Cash, on the other hand, is $0 intro for the first year, then $95. But it earns 2% cash back (see ).
The Capital One Spark Cash Select is the better deal if you spend less than $19,000 on it annually. Once you cross that line, you'll earn more from the Capital One Spark Cash — even with its $95 fee.

What about getting multiple no-fee business cards?

Using more than one business card can make sense if you want to maximize rewards. Issuers may even encourage this with complementary no-annual-fee options.
For example, the Bank of America® Business Advantage Unlimited Cash Rewards Mastercard® credit card earns flat-rate cash back on everything. And the Bank of America® Business Advantage Customized Cash Rewards Mastercard® credit card elevates rewards for certain purchases, like those at gas stations. You could use that card for its bonus category, then the other for everything else. Neither has an annual fee.
Business owners may not want to juggle cards. But the benefits to having multiple business cards extend beyond rewards. More cards means more capital, for instance.

How to calculate if rewards outweigh an annual fee

Finding the break-even point can help you determine if a card's rewards outweigh its fee. In other words, this will tell you how much you need to spend before you start making a "profit."
You can calculate a break-even point by dividing a card's annual fee by its rewards rate. For instance, 95 divided by 0.02 is 4,750. So, after you spend $4,750 on a card with a $95 annual fee and 2% rewards rate, you'd come out ahead. Spend less than $4,750, and that fee likely isn't worth it for you.
Such calculations are often most useful when comparing cards. Use the calculator below to find out when a no annual fee card is — and isn't — a better deal based on reward rate and spending. Keep in mind that perks like welcome bonuses can change this math.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Cash-back business cards typically don’t have an annual fee. The same is true for many corporate cards and secured business credit cards.
Hotel and airline credit cards, on the other hand, almost always have an annual fee. As do many business travel cards. But these cards often offer lucrative rewards, like free hotel stays and airline credits, which helps offset the cost of the annual fee.

Methodology

NerdWallet's writers and editors monitor more than 70 business credit cards to select the best options without outside input from partners or other business interests. We evaluate business cards based on value and simplicity, weighing fees, sign-up bonuses and reward rates, alongside perks like interest-free periods, statement credits and elite status (for travel cards).
We consider more than 20 data points for each card we score, including detailed information about rewards, credits and fees. We gather this information from rates and fees documents, deposit account agreements, financial institution websites and company representatives.
Our editorial team regularly reviews and updates our data to ensure consistency and accuracy. We also update our scoring on an ongoing basis to reflect changing industry norms and business owner needs. For instance, in 2026, we added a small deduction for cards that don’t allow users to issue virtual cards and removed the small increase for cards with no preset spending limit.
