One of our favorite travel cards on the market, the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card offers 5X points on travel purchased through Chase, 3X points on dining, select streaming services and online grocery purchases, 2X points on all other travel, and 1 point on every $1 spent on everything else. Each year, cardholders get a $50 credit on hotel stays purchased through Chase. It also has a signup bonus worth telling your friends about: Earn 75,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. That's over $900 when you redeem through Chase Travel℠.

Points are best used for travel — either through Chase's portal at a rate of 1.25 cents per point, or transferred to one of Chase's travel partner programs at a rate of 1.25 to 5 cents per point.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card has an $95 annual fee, and no foreign transaction fees.
