A federal court ruled in 2017 that Aiding Student Relief Inc. violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practice Act.

Enforcement actions: In addition, a second federal court, in California, issued a default notice against the company in 2017, and a Pennsylvania court ordered the company and its owner to pay a $1,500 civil judgment to an individual who alleged abuse of the consumer protection laws.
