Student Loan Relief Services, also known as SLRS LLC, was directed by the Washington state attorney general to refund more than $6,000 to clients in the state.

Enforcement actions: The attorney general said the refunds would go to 23 residents. He alleged in 2016 that the company overcharged Washington consumers and collected unlawful fees.

What the company claims to provide: Document preparation and processing related to consolidating federal loans and applying for loan forgiveness programs.

Based: Mission Viejo, California

Management: Joe Mogush, member manager. The company is a limited liability company also registered in Nevada. Mogush is a member of the Mogush Family Limited Partnership, as well as the CEO of the NYSA Corp., Rapture Technology Inc., TJD Services Inc., and Quality Control Services Group Inc., which was shut down by the state of California for multiple unpaid state tax liens.
