Shoppers at resort clothing retailer Lilly Pulitzer expect beach styles, bold colors and floral dresses. And they’ve grown accustomed to the After Party Sale.

Twice a year — in January and in August — the designer brand offers a discount event that helps you look good for less. Here’s everything you should know ahead of the highly anticipated August 2016 edition.

What to expect

The semiannual After Party Sale delivers deep discounts on Lilly Pulitzer tops, bottoms and dresses. Last August, some items were priced at more than 50% off. We spotted a button-down shirt for $29 (regularly $98) and a dress that was nearly $100 off (down to $79 from $178).

All sales were final, and everything was eligible for free shipping. Shoppers had to complete their transactions quickly because simply placing an item in their online cart wasn’t enough to ensure they got the deal before inventory ran out. Items could be claimed only after the transaction process was complete. Some customers set up online accounts at the store (complete with their shipping address) before the sale began to expedite the checkout process.

When to get ready

The 2016 After Party Sale will begin at 8 a.m. Eastern time on Aug. 22 and end at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Aug. 23. It’ll be available both online and in-store. No promo codes are valid during the sale, and sale items are not eligible for return or exchange.

Stay tuned to NerdWallet for continued coverage and tips on how to snag the best deals. In the meantime, follow Lilly Pulitzer on Facebook and check out the answers to the store’s frequently asked questions about the sale.
