How Can you Get Your Fitbit Flex Activity Up?

Shopping, Shopping News

You’ve strapped on you new Fitbit Flex, which you got a great deal on and now you are ready to track your every move — the problem — you sit at a desk all day and exercising while working doesn’t exactly go hand in hand. The truth is however; there are some things that you can do during the work day to get your body moving.  Let’s delve in.

Find Ways to Take a Few Extra Steps

When trying to live a healthier lifestyle, you want to get your body moving much as possible, even when at work.  You can start by parking your car at the furthest end of the parking lot to get in a number of extra steps. Track them on your Fitbit and you will soon find that you are moving a lot more than if you went on a hunt for the closest spot possible.

If you need to take an elevator up to your office, try climbing the stairs instead. The first few times, you may find yourself out of breath depending on how many flights up you need to go, but it will be well worth it.

Bike or Walk to Work

If you live close enough to your job, leave the car keys at home and hoof it to work or even peddle your way to the office on a bike. Not only will you be getting great exercise, but also leaving the car parked in the driveway is great for the environment.

Get Out of Your Chair

A New York Times article suggests that another great way to get in some extra steps while at work is to get up and walk over to your co-workers desk rather than send an instant message. The article further suggests using a balance ball instead of a chair.

Get Everyone Involved

Planning a meeting? Rather than hold it in the conference room, why not bring your meeting outside. Take a walk while discussing business. Not only will it put a little bounce in your step, but walking outside or even around the office can help get some creative juices flowing.

Take a Walking Break

Rather than taking your lunch or coffee break at your desk, take some time to get up and walk around the office or around your building to get the circulation moving in your arms and legs.

Deskercise

Yes, Deskercise is a thing. While files are loading or you computer is booting up, stand up and do a few exercises in front of your computer. You can march in place or even walk or jog in place few a few moments until your computer is ready for you again. And if you are brave, why not throw in a few jumping jacks.
