While the welcome bonus for The World Of Hyatt Credit Card isn’t bad, one of the card’s most valuable attractions is arguably its perk-heavy, automatic elite status. After all, elite status can lead to such benefits as earning free nights quicker and free upgrades.
Here’s how World of Hyatt elite status works, what you get out of it and how you can earn even more perks.
Get elite perks immediately
When you become a cardholder of The World Of Hyatt Credit Card, you automatically get Discoverist elite status, which is the first elite level of the Hyatt loyalty program. Those who stay in World of Hyatt hotels without the card would have to stay 10 qualifying nights to earn this level.
At this level, your perks include early check-in and late checkout, when available, and a dedicated reservations line to use for booking your stay. Cardholders also save 10% when the members’ rate is available at a participating property, premium internet, a free daily water bottle and a 10% points bonus at World of Hyatt properties. When redeeming award nights, cardholders receive waived resort fees, complimentary breakfast and a one-category upgrade, when available.
Easy ways to level up
Generally, you’d have to stay at least another 20 tier-qualifying nights on World of Hyatt properties to get to the next tier of status, Explorist, but this card helps you get there sooner.
Each year your card is open, you get five tier-qualifying nights toward your next tier status. Plus, you earn two more tier-qualifying nights per $5,000 in credit card purchases. These nights count toward tier status but aren’t free nights, meaning you need fewer nights’ stays to earn the next status level. And reaching Explorist status will earn you perks such as upgrades to the best room that isn’t a suite and four club access awards per year, including free breakfast and 20% bonus points on all eligible purchases.
