The IHG® Rewards Club Premier Credit Card is a good card to have if you’re already loyal to the IHG brand or plan to be. The IHG portfolio includes more than 5,200 hotels worldwide, and rooms are often priced modestly.
If you’re a frequent and frugal traveler, IHG might be the right brand for you to join as a loyalty member or cardholder. Here are four reasons to consider the IHG® Rewards Club Premier Credit Card.
1. You already stay at IHG hotels
If you tend to choose IHG hotels when you travel, this card can provide a powerful rewards boost. You’ll earn 25 totel points per $1 dollar spent on stays at any IHG hotel, including Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Kimpton Hotels, Hotel Indigo and more. (That includes both points earned from the card and from the hotel stay itself.)
2. You have a vacation in mind
This hotel rewards card comes with a generous sign-up bonus: Earn 80,000 bonus points after spending $2,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening. If you’re ready to book a trip and your hotel choice would normally be out of your price range, this bonus could get you there.
Plus, with the IHG Rewards Club PointsBreaks promotion, you can book rooms at certain hotels for as little as 5,000 points per night. It’s worth checking the PointsBreaks list to see if your travels are taking you through any of the areas listed.

3. You want elite status perks
The IHG® Rewards Club Premier Credit Card gives you automatic Platinum Elite status in the IHG Rewards Club loyalty program. Achieving this level of status would normally require staying 40 qualifying nights.
Platinum perks include a 50% bonus on base points from hotel stays, a welcome amenity, a complimentary upgrade when available, late or early check-in when available and a $30 in-room spa credit. You also get a dedicated customer service line.
4. You eat out a lot
With this card, you earn 2 points per $1 spent at restaurants. But you can earn even more when you join the IHG Rewards Club Dine and Earn program. Depending on your membership level, you can earn up to 8 additional bonus points per dollar, meaning you could earn up to 10 points per $1 spent at over 10,000 restaurants nationwide.
