JetBlue Airways left Ontario, California, a decade ago after flying into the airport for eight years. But with traffic and growth increasing in Southern California, JetBlue came back in September 2018 with daily nonstop service between New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport and Southern California’s Ontario International Airport.

Here’s what you need to know:

There is one flight each way. Both are evening flights. From JFK to Ontario, the flight leaves at 7:12 p.m. The returning flight is overnight at 11:59 p.m. If you want a daytime flight, you can choose nearby nonstops from Los Angeles International Airport, which just broke ground on a $1.6 billion modernization project that’s aimed at improving public-facing amenities.

Ontario is the 10th California city served by JetBlue. Transcontinental flights make up 15% of all of JetBlue’s flights. Ontario is the 73rd nonstop destinations offered from New York-JFK.

Ontario International Airport was previously underserved. While the airport is a bit inland of nearby airports in Orange County, Los Angeles and Long Beach, it is underserved. Traffic coming from the San Bernardino-Riverside-Ontario area can make it difficult to travel to other airports. According to JetBlue, this is the only nonstop offered by any airline between Ontario and New York.

All Ontario flights will be on JetBlue’s Airbus A320 aircraft. Plane features include these free services and amenities: more legroom, unlimited snacks, SIRIUSXM® radio programming, live DIRECTV® programming on seatback televisions and high-speed wireless internet.

With only one flight per day, booking quickly is always a must. Frequent flyer and low fare tickets may go fast.
