The partnership between American Airlines and China Southern Airlines is expanding once again, giving flyers even more options when traveling on the airlines. This latest expansion includes greater codeshare cooperation and the launch of reciprocal frequent flyer benefits and lounge access.

The two airlines will begin the new codeshare expansion during early 2019, which will give American’s customers better access to interior China and China Southern’s customers better access to the United States.

Customers will also have the opportunity to earn and redeem miles on the other carrier’s flights. AAdvantage members will be able to stock up on miles on thousands of flights in China Southern’s network, and for those holding a China Southern Sky Pearl Club membership, points can be accumulated on any one of American’s 6,700 daily flight routes.

As an extra bonus, the two airlines also plan to offer reciprocal lounge access to select Pearl Lounges and select worldwide American Airlines lounges.
