“I worked closely with Ganesh at Yahoo and LinkedIn through many phases of hyper-growth in business, technology and organizational complexity. I was consistently impressed with GK’s thorough, thoughtful approach to making security a first-class citizen in a company’s culture and growth story, and in protecting the needs of data and privacy of users and business partners alike,” says Bhaskar Ghosh, NerdWallet’s vice president of engineering, operations and security. “I can’t think of a more qualified technology leader and domain expert to guide us through building the technology infrastructure, talent and internal processes that will help NerdWallet bring clarity to all of life’s financial decisions with security and trust. I am also delighted GK is joining another distinguished alumnus of Yahoo and LinkedIn — David Henke — on our technology and product advisory board.”

Krishnan says: “Today, fintech is one of the most disruptive areas in technology. As I spoke with leaders at NerdWallet, I was impressed with both their consumer-first mission and their ability to execute an ambitious technology and product road map. I am extremely passionate about this area and look forward to providing my expertise, as well as helping Bhaskar build a world-class in-house security and privacy team.”

Tim Chen, NerdWallet CEO and co-founder, was one of the executives who impressed Krishnan. According to Chen: "Winning people’s trust is vital for NerdWallet as we establish ourselves as the go-to resource for financial decisions. Beyond giving great advice and ensuring we always recommend the best products for an individual's unique needs, we need to ensure their data and privacy are secure. Ganesh is one of the most well-respected security experts in technology, and we’re thrilled to have his guidance as we grow as a company and expand our offerings.”

Krishnan has nearly two decades of experience building strong technology and security teams at companies such as LinkedIn and Yahoo. He currently heads up the Security and Identity Engineering teams at Atlassian. Prior to that position, he was head of Security Engineering at LinkedIn, overseeing Anti-Abuse, Privacy Engineering, Security Infrastructure Engineering and the LinkedIn Information Security Program. Krishnan also bootstrapped the LinkedIn India Technology Center in Bangalore, the first remote engineering office for LinkedIn; and served as vice president of Information Security at Yahoo Inc. He has a master’s in computer science from Purdue University.
