If you’re a small-business owner primed to get an Amazon credit card, you have a new incentive to apply for the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card — an extra C-note for spending on things unrelated to Amazon.

Previously, the welcome offer for new cardholders was an Amazon gift card. You still get that, but you also receive encouragement to spend on non-Amazon purchases, an apparent attempt to make the card your go-to for all spending.

Specifically, the new offer is: Eligible Prime Members get a $125 Amazon Gift Card upon approval for the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card. Terms Apply.

Those 2% back categories are on purchases at U.S. restaurants and U.S. gas stations, and on wireless telephone services purchased directly from U.S. service providers. The 1% back is on all other eligible purchases. Terms apply.

This same additional $100 bonus and terms also apply to the non-Prime version of this card, the Amazon Business American Express Card, although its upfront gift card offer is still lower. Get a $100 Amazon Gift Card upon approval for the Amazon Business American Express Card. Terms Apply.

🤓Nerdy Tip

If you're looking for a rewarding Amazon credit card, but don't own a small business, keep in mind that Chase issues a similar consumer version of this card.

Other card features

Both cards charge an annual fee of $0. Their ongoing rewards for Amazon spending haven’t changed.

Ongoing rewards:

    • For the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card: 5% back or 90-day interest-free payment terms on U.S. purchases at Amazon Business, Amazon Web Services, Amazon.com and Whole Foods Market.

    • For the Amazon Business American Express Card: 3% back or 60-day interest-free payment terms on U.S. purchases at Amazon Business, Amazon Web Services, Amazon.com and Whole Foods Market.

    • For all cardholders: 2% back on purchases at U.S. restaurants and U.S. gas stations, and on wireless telephone services purchased directly from U.S. service providers. 1% back on all other eligible purchases.

    • Terms apply.

The ongoing APR is 19.49%-27.49% Variable APR, for both cards.

If you’re not a big spender at Amazon, you might want to look for another small-business card.
