Chime is an online financial company that doesn't offer business bank accounts. Instead, it specializes in personal spending and savings accounts.

NerdWallet recommends keeping personal and business checking accounts separate. But if you were interested in a Chime business bank account for benefits like good interest rates and low fees, the alternatives below may offer your small business similar features.

Chime business bank account alternatives

The right bank account for you will come down to your unique business needs and budget. But if you want to open an online business checking account, the following options may be a good fit instead of Chime.

NBKC business checking

Chime accounts have no monthly fees or overdraft charges. For a similar low-cost option, NBKC offers a free business checking account with no minimum deposit plus budget-conscious perks like unlimited fee-free transactions and no fees for insufficient funds.

On the other hand, NBKC does charge a high fee ($45) to send or receive international wires; a different provider may be a better choice if your business relies on such services. NBKC business checking accounts also don’t earn interest.

BlueVine Business Checking

If you’d prefer an interest-bearing business checking account, consider BlueVine. Account holders with BlueVine Business Checking earn 1.00% interest on balances that don’t go over $100,000 — a rate that exceeds the 0.50% Chime offers on its savings accounts, as of this writing.

BlueVine also keeps business checking costs low, with no monthly fees or nonsufficient funds fees. And similar to Chime, you can deposit cash at over 90,000 physical locations via a partnership with the third-party service Green Dot. Just keep in mind that there is a $4.95 fee per deposit.

For a Chime business bank account alternative with broad ATM access, business owners might consider LendingClub Tailored Checking. Like Chime, LendingClub Bank participates in the MoneyPass ATM network, which has more than 37,000 fee-free ATMs nationwide. But LendingClub Bank also partners with the SUM ATM network, offering you even more options.

Account holders receive unlimited transactions and ATM access without incurring fees. This includes the ability to make cash deposits. LendingClub Tailored Checking charges a $10 monthly fee, though this can be waived if your account balance is $5,000 or more. Opening an account requires a $100 minimum deposit.

While Chime customers may be comfortable banking online, Capital One Spark Business Basic Checking combines features more common with online-only operations  — like unlimited transactions — with a traditional brick-and-mortar presence.

Capital One Spark Business Basic Checking supports cash deposits and offers no-fee ATM access. However, it's available in only eight states and Washington, D.C., and you’ll need to visit a branch to sign up. Accounts also require a $250 minimum opening deposit and charge a $15 monthly fee, which can be waived if a balance of at least $2,000 is maintained.
