Is Marriott Pet-Friendly?
Specific rules (and fees) around bringing pets to a Marriott hotel vary by property, so read the fine print.

At many of its thousands of hotels, Marriott’s approach to traveling with pets has quietly evolved from "maybe-we-allow-dogs" to "bring-your-shih-tzu-and-we'll-turn-down-their-bed." While not all 8,000+ Marriott hotels allow pets, more than 1,500 U.S. properties welcome them. What's more, a handful are going beyond bones with tail-wagging luxury.
Now just because a Marriott hotel allows pets doesn't mean it will be free. Many charge pet fees, which can easily top $100 depending on the hotel. But if traveling with your pet is non-negotiable, here’s your go-to guide for which Marriott hotels are pet-friendly.
Marriott’s pet policy
Marriott doesn’t bark out one singular pet policy for all its brands. Instead, each hotel sets its own rules — which makes navigating pet-friendliness a little trickier than hunting for that squeaky toy at the bottom of the suitcase.
Even at hotels that do allow pets, there tend to be restrictions. If your hotel does allow pets, were’s what you can generally expect:
Pets allowed: Dogs and cats are the most common guests, though some properties also permit birds or fish.
Fees: Nonrefundable pet cleaning fees range from $20 to $250, charged per night or per stay.
Weight limits: Most often between 25–70 pounds, but can vary widely.
Restricted zones: Expect no-pet rules for restaurants, pools, or spas.
Traveling abroad? Pet policies at international Marriott hotels vary even more. Always confirm the details before clicking "book."

Real Marriott hotels where pets get the VIP treatment
Some Marriott brands tend to be more welcoming to pets than others. Some specific Marriott hotels are more than just pet-friendly — but pet-lavish. Here are some standout Marriott properties that allow pets.

Element by Westin
Eco-conscious and sleek, Element properties welcome dogs up to 40 pounds in many locations, often with reasonable or waived fees and modern, easy-clean floors for pet messes.
Moxy Hotels
Urban, funky, and often affordable, many Moxy locations offer pet-friendly rooms, chill check-ins with treats and public spaces where pets are actually welcome to hang out — not just hide under the bed.
Residence Inn & TownePlace Suites
These extended-stay brands are catnip for road-tripping pet parents. Many offer on-site green space, full kitchens and less-restrictive policies around number of pets, length of stay, and pet fees.
Are service animals allowed at Marriott?
Yes. All Marriott hotels in the United States must allow service animals, and you won’t be charged pet fees.
Outside the U.S., rules can differ, so check each hotel’s “Accessibility” section online to verify service animal acceptance.
