While there are plenty of sacrifices made by members of the military and their families, there are some benefits to being one of those who have served. This includes discounts on many things, including theme park tickets.
Eligible service members can receive steeply discounted — or even free — theme park tickets, whether they’re traveling to Walt Disney World or Universal Studios.
Let’s take a look at the five best military discounts for theme parks, including free military tickets.

1. Disney military discounts
Does Disney offer military discounts? Yes; depending on which park you’d like to visit, there is both a Disneyland military discount and a Walt Disney World military discount available. If you’re an active duty service member, retired or 100% permanently and totally (P&T) disabled, you’re eligible for military salute tickets.
The price of these will vary since you have options from which to choose, including the number of park days you’re visiting and whether you’re interested in park hopping.
These tickets are only available via the ticket office at a US military base.
However, eligible military can generally expect to save close to 50% on the standard Disney ticket price. Even better, these tickets have a much longer shelf life than standard Disney tickets; they can be used for up to a year before expiring.

2. Universal Studios military discounts
Universal Studios has historically had great deals for those in the military. Like Disney, to qualify for these tickets you’ll need to be active duty, retired, a Medal of Honor recipient or be 100% P&T disabled.
This year features one of the best offers we’ve seen, with the ability to purchase an unlimited-use ticket at Universal Studios Orlando for just $210. Although there are blockout dates, eligible members are able to visit as many times as they’d like until the pass expires in December 2024.
Universal Studios Hollywood also has discount tickets available. You’ll pay $109 for a one-day pass, although there are some few blockout dates. During its busiest times, Universal Studios Hollywood charges as much as $159 (plus tax) for a one-day ticket.
3. Six Flags military discounts
There are Six Flags theme park locations all over the United States, which means you’re likely not far from a park.
Six Flags offers discounts to active and retired military members. These apply to both day tickets and annual passes. The cost of tickets will vary based on which theme park you’re visiting, so you’ll want to search each park’s site individually.

4. SeaWorld military discounts
SeaWorld offers discounts to both active duty service members and veterans. It’s also one of the few that offers completely free tickets for the military. If you’re active duty, you can get one complimentary visit to any SeaWorld park per year for you and up to three of your direct dependents.
This offer is valid for all SeaWorld properties but also acts as the Busch Gardens military discount by offering free admission to any of those parks as well.
SeaWorld Orlando is offering an additional special for active duty military; you can purchase a pass valid through the end of 2024 for just $169.99. This allows you to visit SeaWorld and Aquatica Orlando as many times as you wish.
The discounts you’re eligible for as a veteran will vary. At SeaWorld Orlando, for example, you can save 50% on a single-day ticket. At SeaWorld San Diego, meanwhile, veterans and up to three guests can receive a one-time complimentary admission.

5. Legoland military discount
Legoland’s military discount is decent. In California, for example, you’ll pay just $74.50 for a one-day ticket to Legoland as a veteran or active duty member. This also includes your spouse and family members.
The standard price for these tickets starts at $89 per person.
Other military discount ticket options
We’ve covered some of the biggest and best military discounts on theme park tickets, but there are still more to be found.
For example, Knott’s Berry Farm, located not far from Disneyland in California, is another park that offers discounts to military personnel. During its Tribute Days, eligible guests can purchase tickets for just $19.99. You can also inquire about a Hersheypark military discount at your local base.

If you want to buy military theme park tickets
There’s no denying that the military takes a lot out of you. Whether you’re waking up at 4:00 a.m. to run laps or sleeping in a frigid tent, there aren’t many careers that are so demanding.
Happily, many businesses recognize this and honor your sacrifice by offering specialty discounts. This includes major theme parks such as Disney and Universal, as well as smaller and more local options like Hershey Park. Before buying tickets, do you research to find out which discounts apply to you.
