Aw nerds! Looks like this page may be out of date. Head over to our Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card page for updated info.

Update as of 4/5/11: Capital One hit their 1 billion mile cap more than a month early, so this program has now come to an end. Those who have already been approved for credit cards are still eligible to submit their paperwork for the match. See the full details here.

Starting today, Capital One (along with Alec Baldwin, for some reason) is offering up to 100,000 bonus miles for new Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card applicants, by matching your previously-accumulated credit card rewards from another airline credit card. So for example, if you are currently a United, Delta, or Continental credit cardholder, Capital One is going to double the miles you’ve earned, up to 100,000.

And since Venture miles aren’t restricted to a single airline, or even restricted to airfare, you can use these extra miles to pay for any travel expenses you have coming up.  That means flights on other airlines, hotel stays, rental cars, or any other travel-specific expenses.

How does it work?

  1. Apply for a Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card before May 13, 2011, and wait for an email from Capital One with further instructions.
  2. Register your account online and submit proof of any airline miles you’ve earned on one other airline credit card. You’re going to want to ACT FAST, because the statement has to be sent within 45 days, and they’re capping the total payout at a billion miles.
  3. Spend $1,000 within the first 90 days of opening the account, and those miles are yours.

Worried that it’s too good to be true?

Follow my application progress.  So far Capital One has been great with the email feedback, and everything has been approved!

I signed up. Got the card. Within two weeks they accepted my United miles and gave me the bonus miles, I redeemed them for $1,200 in gas cards. Haven’t paid for gas since. A very good deal.

I registered my account, got a passcode.  I submited my AA miles with 160,000 miles. statement via Fax.  Now, Capital One said that I never registered or submit my miles and refused to credit my account for 100,000 miles.  What a scam.  I just cancelled my Capital One card

I applied for cards, got approved, registered and try submitting statement for miles for the 100000 miles match was not able to do it on the web so faxed the statement in early april…FUP to make sure they received my paperwork…they said they did and told me it takes months to see 100000 credit to the acct…I fup in aug..nothing…FUP in nov 2011 again and final ans they denied me creadit…that I never registered…Now their site have glitches where process is difficult to complete..Its their word against mine…They do not want to match my miles…Shame on them…I am so mad at these companies who get out of doing the right thing by customer who follows all the steps and does a right thing..

If Mr. Baldwin is reading it I say get on Capital one’s butt and get this thing done..I am one dissatisfied customer who was cheated out…They wont give me name and number of the decision maker nor they comit for them to call me back…Wht is a customer to do?

Sounds exactly like my story. Jumped through all their hoops and waited, as they asked, for several months. Made a call or two in the meantime waiting, and no mileage match. Now they say I didn’t register. VERY DISSATISFIED.
