Many or all of the products featured here are from our partners who compensate us. This influences which products we write about and where and how the product appears on a page. However, this does not influence our evaluations. Our opinions are our own. Here is a list of our partners and here's how we make money.

At NerdWallet, we are focused on helping people lead better lives through financial education and empowerment. We are an online company, but we strongly believe in acting on our mission in person and giving back to the community to help empower those around us.

That's done through our employee-led corporate social responsibility program, NerdsPayItForward. In the 18 months since the program was launched, our Nerds (NerdWallet employees) have volunteered at more than 40 events and raised thousands of dollars for local and national organizations.

And now, NerdsPayItForward is excited to give back to the community in another way: through its first community grants.

NerdsPayItForward has developed strong relationships with multiple community organizations that align with its mission of supporting its neighbors in the Tenderloin area and the larger San Francisco community through financial literacy and empowerment.

The program is honored to have worked closely with three special organizations — Project Homeless Connect, St. Anthony's and Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) — and is excited to present them grants of $5,000 each.
