The Chase Freedom® third-quarter bonus categories for 2020 might be particularly helpful for those who've been relying heavily on online shopping during the COVID-19 pandemic.
From July 1 through Sept. 30, 2020, the card will earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined spending on the following categories (activation is required):
Amazon.com.
Whole Foods Market.
All other purchases will automatically earn 1% back.

Amazon.com hasn't been a featured 5% bonus category for the Chase Freedom® since 2015. Per Chase, qualifying Amazon.com purchases this quarter also include Amazon.com Prime subscriptions, gift cards, digital downloads, Amazon.com Fresh orders and items sold by third-party merchants via Amazon.
The Whole Foods Market 5% bonus will also apply to purchases made at U.S. Whole Foods 365 stores and online at wholefoodsmarket.com. It won't, however, apply to Whole Foods purchases you make through third-party delivery services such as Instacart, Shipt, etc., nor will it apply to online purchases of gift cards redeemable at Whole Foods.
