With NFL and college football in full swing, you might be wondering how to catch all your favorite games. FuboTV, the self-described “sports-first live streaming platform,” offers live sports viewing as well as local and premium channels.
But how much does Fubo cost and is it worth it? It depends which plan you choose and the types of programming you prefer.
How much is FuboTV?
FuboTV plans generally range from $14.99 per month to $94.99 per month.
The three main FuboTV plans are: Pro, Elite and Latino. Fubo also has sports-only plans, like MLB.TV, and segmented ways to watch live TV, like quarterly plans. Only the Pro and Elite plans offer access to more than 200 channels.
Two important notes:
- The number of channels each plan offers depends on where you live and local offerings. Enter your ZIP code to learn more about the overall number of channels available and number in each plan level.
- Fubo's pricing changes often, and it offers promotional trials. You might want to monitor the price for the package and add-ons you want, and sign up when you see a dip.
Pro: $84.99 per month
Fubo Pro starts at $84.99 per month. You get access to watch Fubo on up to 10 screens on your home network as well as family share, which enables three additional devices outside the home. You also have unlimited cloud DVR space. It includes regional NBA, NHL and MLB games.
Elite: $94.99 per month
The Elite plan, which starts at $94.99 per month, offers everything in the Pro plan plus 4K streaming, additional channels and regional games.
Latino: $14.99 per month
Fubo’s Latino plan offers Spanish-language TV at $14.99 per month. Enter your ZIP code to check the number of channels you’ll receive. You also get unlimited cloud DVR space and can watch Fubo on up to two screens.
Fubo add-ons
To customize the viewing experience, Fubo lets you add features and channel add-ons such as Sports Plus with NFL RedZone, STARZ or MLB.TV for an added cost. You can also select sports-only or entertainment-only plans, along with tiered options for live TV and Latino plans.
Is FuboTV worth it?
With so many streaming services available, it’s challenging to sift through all the choices and find one that fits your needs and budget. For sports lovers especially, it can be difficult to find a platform that offers regional games. Here’s how to decide if Fubo is worth it.
How often do you watch sports? While Fubo offers news and entertainment programs, it markets itself predominantly as a sports platform. If your typical TV time doesn’t include the latest NFL lineup or catching Stanley Cup coverage, you may be able to meet your needs with a different streaming service. But for those that watch a variety of sports with frequency, Fubo may be a viable option.
How does Fubo fit into your budget? Think about the “wants” category of your budget and if there is space to add in a subscription service. Consider the 50/30/20 budget framework, where 50% of your income applies to needs, 30% to wants, and 20% to savings and debt repayment.
Are there other lower-cost options to consider? Fubo offers a free trial for each plan option, allowing you to try before you buy. You will need to provide a credit or debit card to initiate the trial, and at the end of your free period Fubo will automatically switch you over to a paid subscription unless you cancel.
When signing up, look on the checkout screen for the date and time your free trial will end, or check in the MyAccount section once you’re on the site.
Another angle worth investigating to keep subscription costs down is using rewards categories if you use a credit card. Some cards offer perks for streaming services, with as much as 8% cash back. See our guide for more money saving tips.
