Marriott has launched a trio of work-from-hotel packages designed as an alternative for guests looking for a change of scenery from a home office. The Day Pass, Stay Pass and Play Pass packages offer guests options to work from select domestic and international Marriott hotels for the day, overnight or an extended getaway.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear members can redeem points to book these packages yet, but you will earn points just like normal bookings. The packages are currently available to book directly through . Here’s an overview of the three new packages.

The Day Pass offers the ability to work from a nearby hotel with the following benefits:

The cost of a Day Pass reservation varies depending on the location and hotel. For example, it’s $55 plus taxes and fees for a standard guest room day pass at the Courtyard Phoenix North, and it’s $109 at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square.

The Day Pass is currently being offered in select hotels in Atlanta, Dallas, New York, Phoenix, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, London, Toronto and Singapore.

With a Stay Pass reservation, you can book an overnight stay and get up to 36 hours at the hotel on a one-night booking thanks to the early check-in and late checkout benefits. It’s possible to book a multiple night reservation to extend the benefits of your Stay Pass, subject to availability at the hotel.

Here’s an overview of the Stay Pass features:

Before booking a Stay Pass reservation, it’s worth comparing the cost to a regular room rate.  For example, a sample one-night Stay Pass reservation at the SLS Hotel Beverly Hills costs $394 plus taxes and fees. However, the Marriott Bonvoy member rate for the same night is $341, which means you’d be paying more than $50 for the extra Stay Pass benefits. If you won’t take advantage of all of the Stay Pass perks it may be cheaper to simply book a regular reservation.

According to Marriott, Stay Pass is available at more than 2,000 hotels around the world.

For an extended work-from-a-hotel getaway, Marriott created the Play Pass, which is designed with traveling families in mind. Benefits include:

Participating hotels may also offer unique perks for guests traveling with a Play Pass reservation. For example, The Ritz Carlton Cancun is advertising the following benefits:

Similar to the Stay Pass, it’s worth comparing the cost of a Play Pass reservation to a standard booking. Also, many of the hotels eligible for Play Pass reservations are resort-style hotels, so you might be able to find a better package deal depending on the location.

Play Pass is currently available in many warm weather locations including Arizona, Cancun, California, Florida, Hawaii and several other international destinations.

If you’re tired of working remotely from home, Marriott’s three new work-from-a-hotel packages may offer a welcome change of scenery. However, it’s worth comparing the cost of a Day Pass, Stay Pass or Play Pass to a regular room rate. If you won't take full advantage of the added perks, you might be able to save on your reservation.
