Business credit cards with no foreign transaction fees can be used all over the world for no additional charge. By opting for one of these cards, you’ll avoid a surcharge — usually around 3% — on any international purchases.
Dodging foreign transaction fees is great. But the best business credit card for you will pair those savings with benefits that line up with your international spending.
For instance, if you're frequently flying overseas for work,
The Business Platinum Card® from American Express
can make your travels more comfortable with access to 1,400 airport lounges across 140 countries (terms apply). If you purchase from a lot of international suppliers, the
Capital One Spark Cash Select
might be a better fit. It’s one of the few cash-back business credit cards with no foreign transaction fee, plus it offers 1.5% rewards on all purchases with no annual fee. (See rates and fees.)
Explore the cards below to find the best fit for your business.
Some of our selections for the best business credit cards with no foreign transaction fee credit cards can be applied for through NerdWallet directly, although some cannot. NerdWallet's editorial picks: Business credit cards with no foreign transaction fee

Be sure to confirm details on the card issuer’s website before applying.

Venture X Business

Best for: High rewards rates on travel
NerdWallet star rating:
4.9
The
Capital One Venture X Business
offers some of the highest travel rewards rates around and a solid cash-back rate on everything else:
Earn 10X miles on hotels and rental cars and 5X miles on flights and vacation rentals booked through Capital One's travel booking site, where you'll get the best prices on thousands of options. Earn unlimited 2X miles on every purchase, everywhere—with no limits or category restrictions.
This is a charge card, so it doesn't come with a preset spending limit — but you'll have to pay it off in full every month. If you can swing that (plus the
$395
annual fee), it could be a valuable addition to your wallet. (See rates and fees.) Learn more and apply.

Capital One Spark Cash Select

Best for: Flat-rate cash back
NerdWallet star rating:
4.6
The
Capital One Spark Cash Select
offers a generous, attainable sign-up bonus, no annual fee and flat-rate cash-back rewards. (See rates and fees.) Businesses that expect to spend $30,000 or more in their first three months should look to the
Capital One Spark Cash Plus
, which offers a higher bonus and rewards rate (for a higher annual fee). (See rates and fees.) Learn more and apply.

U.S. Bank Business Altitude® Connect Visa Signature® Card

Best for: Flexible travel booking options
NerdWallet star rating:
4.5
The
U.S. Bank Business Altitude® Connect Visa Signature® Card
delivers impressive rewards on travel, no matter where you book it. You'll earn 4x points on your first $150,000 in combined annual travel spend each year — plus, 5x points on hotels and rental cars booked directly with U.S. Bank's Rewards Portal. There's also a solid welcome offer and no annual fee for the first year ($
95
after that). Learn more and apply.

The Business Platinum Card® from American Express

Best for: Premium travel benefits
NerdWallet star rating:
4.5
The Business Platinum Card® from American Express
comes with a big annual fee. But business travelers who prefer to go in style will find plenty that appeals to them: high rewards on certain travel purchases, bonus rewards on larger nontravel purchases, a superb newcomer welcome offer, extensive airport lounge access, elite hotel status, hundreds of dollars a year in available credits and a list of perks as long as your arm. It's not cheap, but luxury never is. Terms apply. Learn more and apply.

Chase Ink Business Preferred

Best for: Bonus rewards on shipping
NerdWallet star rating:
4.8
The
Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card
starts you off with one of the biggest sign-up bonuses of any credit card anywhere:
Earn 90,000 bonus points after you spend $8,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
You also get bonus rewards on travel expenses and common business spending categories, like advertising, shipping and internet, cable and phone service. Points are worth 25% more when redeemed for travel booked through Chase, or you can transfer them to about a dozen airline and hotel partners. Learn more and apply.

Bank of America® Business Advantage Travel Rewards World Mastercard® credit card

Best for: No annual fee
NerdWallet star rating:
4.2
The
Bank of America® Business Advantage Travel Rewards World Mastercard® credit card
pays solid rewards on every purchase and gives you wide flexibility in redeeming your points for any travel purchase, without the restrictions of branded airline and hotel cards. Learn more and apply.

Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card

Best for: Hotel rewards
NerdWallet star rating:
5
Marriott has hotels in 139 countries and territories, which means it will likely be an option for most of your business travel. The
Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card
can pay for itself just with the automatic Free Night Award every year. Add in the included elite status, generous rewards, a dandy welcome offer and more, and it's hard to go wrong. Terms apply. Learn more and apply.

Delta SkyMiles® Gold Business American Express Card

Best for: Airline miles
NerdWallet star rating:
4.4
There are splashier Delta AmEx cards, with annual fees to match. But the
Delta SkyMiles® Gold Business American Express Card
delivers a welcome balance of perks vs. fees. You’ll earn bonus points on shipping, advertising and restaurants, as well as Delta flights. There’s also a $200 annual Delta flight credit when you spend at least $10,000 in a calendar year. And the card has no annual fee in the first year; after that, the $
150
annual fee kicks in. Terms apply. Learn more and apply.

Which business credit cards work abroad?

Generally speaking, you should be able to use any business credit card abroad. However, international sellers may choose to not take cards that operate on specific payment networks. This is true in the U.S. as well.
There are four major U.S. payment networks: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. All have merchants that accept their credit cards around the world, but some countries may have more than others.
Visa and Mastercard tend to dominate in terms of merchant acceptance. American Express has a global presence as well, but it may be smaller than its competitors. Discover doesn’t currently offer business credit cards.
If you want the broadest payment coverage possible, getting a Mastercard or a Visa business credit card is likely your best bet. You can look on the card itself to see if it operates on either of these payment networks.

What other fees apply to international transactions?

When you buy something with a business credit card abroad, you may be presented with the option to pay in U.S. dollars or pay in local currency.
If you choose the local currency, the payment network (Visa, Mastercard or AmEx) will take care of converting the transaction into U.S. dollars at a set exchange rate. The fee for this service is usually around 1%. If you choose U.S. dollars, you’ll use what’s known as dynamic currency conversion, which may come with additional fees.
These costs are separate from foreign transaction fees, and they aren’t avoidable for companies that do business in multiple currencies. Dynamic conversion can help you better understand costs up front instead of waiting to see them in U.S. dollars on your bill later. But if you want to limit how much you spend in fees, making purchases in local currencies is likely the better bet.

Methodology

NerdWallet's business credit card team selects the best small-business credit cards without outside input from partners or other business interests. We evaluate business cards based on value and simplicity, weighing fees, sign-up bonuses and reward rates, alongside perks like interest-free periods, statement credits and elite status (for travel cards). Business cards that earn the highest scores deliver the most value to the greatest number of business owners.
Notable changes to our methodology for 2025 include factoring in whether spending on employee cards earns rewards and counts toward the welcome offer requirements. We also now consider what information the card issuer reports to consumer credit bureaus. Learn how NerdWallet rates small-business credit cards.
