Apple’s much-anticipated mobile payment system, Apple Pay, officially launched Monday, Oct. 20, allowing millions of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+  users to make point-of-sale purchases using their devices. Unlike other mobile wallet systems, such as PayPal and Google Wallet, Apple Pay incorporates users’ existing credit and debit cards, allowing users to virtually switch between cards prior to making a purchase.

Will my card work with Apple Pay?

Some credit and debit card issuers have been touting capability to their cardholders. Prior to launch, Apple struck deals with Visa, MasterCard and American Express, as well as with some 500 banks. But it’s still unclear to some consumers whether their credit or debit card will work with the mobile wallet. Here at NerdWallet, we’ve compiled everything we know right now about which cards are wired for Apple Pay, and we will continue to publish updates as new information becomes available. For now, use the following links to learn more about each credit card issuer’s compatibility.
