Here’s some news that will put travelers in the Thanksgiving spirit: The Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard® just debuted its largest-ever sign-up bonus, available to new cardholders for a limited time.
Here’s the new sign-up bonus, which became available Monday, Nov. 19: Enjoy 70,000 bonus miles after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first 90 days. That’s enough bonus miles to redeem for $700 in travel expenses.
This offer is about 17% higher than the previous sign-up bonus, which was 60,000 bonus miles after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first 90 days. The spending threshold remains the same.
Combined with the high ongoing rewards on this card, this limited-time offer makes this card an excellent choice for travelers looking for flexible redemption options.
Miles earned on the card are worth 1 cent apiece when redeemed for credit against a broad range of travel purchases. You can earn 2 miles per dollar spent on all purchases, plus you’ll get a 5% bonus when you redeem rewards. (For example, if you redeem 100,000 miles, you’ll get an extra 5,000 miles.) That gives the card an effective 2.1% rewards rate when redeemed for travel statement credit.
This news comes on the heels of Capital One debuting a similar offer on the Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card (this limited-time offer is not available through NerdWallet) and announcing it would add transfer partners in December 2018.
