Credit Cards
With so many websites offering free financial tools, it can be hard to know whom to trust. At NerdWallet, we spend literally 1,000s of hours researching partner offers and following strict editorial integrity to match you with the perfect choice. We even share how we make money so you can enjoy our expert advice and researched recommendations with total clarity and confidence.

Aw nerds! It looks like this page may be out of date.

Right on the heels of placing second to Discover in our online rewards discount showdown, Chase has decided to pull out the big guns for the holiday.  Over the next two months, Chase credit card holders will be able to score even bigger savings on holiday gifts and other purchases by taking advantage of their Ultimate Rewards.

Here’s the details:

  • “Give a gift, get a free gift.” From November 14-20, anyone who redeems 5,000 Ultimate Rewards points or more in a single transaction will score a free Best Buy gift card, valued at $10 for a 5,000 point redemption or $25 for a 10,000 point redemption. So over those few days, you can bump your redemption value from 1% to as high as 1.25%.
  • “Shop ‘N Save on Cyber Monday.” If you use your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to shop on Cyber Monday (the Monday after Thanksgiving for those who hate shopping) will get 30% off anything purchased through the Ultimate Rewards site, and this offer can be combined with the one above, netting you even more bonus dough. For example, if you find something online that requires redeeming 7,500 points, you’ll get 30% off, making it only 5,250 points, and then you’ll get a $10 Best Buy gift card for redeeming more than 5,000 points.
  • “Eight is Great: Earn 8 Times the Points When You Shop at ultimaterewards.comAnyone who does their online shopping through the Ultimate Rewards Mall from November 26-30 will earn 8 bonus points per $1 spent at select merchants like Sears and Toys “R” Us.  So if you don’t have 5,000 points to redeem, this is a good way to get started earning them.

A few weeks ago, we told you all about how you can save money using online malls like Chase Ultimate Rewards and ShopDiscover, and now they’re upping the ante, making these rewards and loyalty malls an even better option for doing your upcoming holiday shopping.
