This Offer Has Expired

This limited-time offer for the American Express Blue Cash cards expired in January 2017. For current offers, see our pages for the Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express and the Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express.

If you’re a big Amazon shopper, Jan. 11, 2017, is the last day that applying for one of American Express’ Blue Cash credit cards will qualify you for up to $200 in bonus cash back on purchases at the online retailer.

AmEx announced in October that new Blue Cash cardholders could earn 10% cash back at Amazon for six months from account opening, up to a maximum of $200 (the equivalent of $2,000 in spending). That offer came on top of the regular cash introductory bonuses offered by these cards.

These two cards have long been NerdWallet favorites for their generous cash-back rewards:

  • The Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express pays 6% cash back at U.S. supermarkets, on up to $6,000 in spending per year (1% after that), 3% at U.S. gas stations and select U.S. department stores, and 1% everywhere else. Terms apply. The annual fee is: $95.
  • The Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express pays 3% cash back at U.S. supermarkets, on up to $6,000 in spending per year (1% after that), 2% at U.S. gas stations and select U.S. department stores, and 1% everywhere else. Terms apply. The annual fee is $0.
