The doubled sign-up bonus on the The Priceline Rewards™ Visa® Card was a limited-time offer that has expired. See our best credit cards page for other offers.

One of the easiest-to-snag credit card sign-up bonuses on the market is about to double in size.

The Priceline Rewards™ Visa® Card — which carries an annual fee of $0 — will increase its sign-up bonus from 5,000 points to 10,000 points on Jan. 15, 2018, according to Barclaycard. That’s worth $150 when redeemed for eligible purchases or $100 when redeemed for other purchases. The best part: You can qualify for the bonus after making a first purchase — just one purchase! — on the card.

Such easy-to-earn sign-up bonuses are unusual for credit cards these days. While bonuses grow larger than ever, virtually every offer now requires you to meet certain spending thresholds to qualify for sign-up bonuses, making this offer a standout. The card also features strong ongoing rewards, including:

  • 5 points per dollar spent on eligible purchases
  • 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases
  • No annual fee
  • No foreign transaction fees

Much like a cash-back card, The Priceline Rewards™ Visa® Card allows you to apply your statement credit toward any purchase — not just travel purchases. Points are worth 1 cent each when redeeming for regular purchases, and 1.5 cents each when redeeming for purchases. Statement credits can be applied to purchases of $25 or more posted within the last 120 days. You’ll also earn a redemption bonus of 10% when redeeming for travel purchases, including eligible purchases.

Suppose you redeemed 10,000 points toward a purchase. That would cover $150 worth of the purchase; plus, you’d get a 1,000 point bonus when you redeemed, explains Mike Bolmer, vice president of travel, entertainment and affinity partnerships, who manages the card. With these combined bonuses, the card has an outstanding effective rewards rate of about 8.25% when used for purchasing and redeeming on

If you frequently book trips on, now’s a good time to apply for this budget-friendly card.
