Other business credit cards from Chase

  • Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card. This is a less expensive version of the issuer's Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card, with an annual fee of $99 instead of $199. While it doesn't come with all the perks of the Performance card, it does earn enough points to make it worthwhile for Southwest fans.
  • United Club℠ Business Card. This card is a star if you crave unlimited United lounge access and the ability to check multiple bags for free, but the annual fee packs quite a wallop — especially compared to the far less expensive The New United℠ Business Card ($695 vs. $150).

How to maximize your Chase business credit card rewards

To get the highest rewards rate on the largest number of purchases possible, consider opening the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card, the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card and the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card (a Chase trifecta) and stacking purchases in the following ways:
  • Office supply stores:
    • Use the Ink Cash (5% cash back) until you hit the combined annual $25,000 spending cap across the 5% bonus categories.
    • Switch to the Ink Unlimited (1.5% cash back) for all remaining purchases.
  • Travel:
    • Use the Ink Preferred (3 points per $1 spent) until you hit the combined annual $150,000 spending cap across all the bonus categories.
    • Switch to the Ink Unlimited (1.5% cash back) for all remaining purchases.
  • Internet, phone and cable services:
    • Use the Ink Cash (5% cash back) until you hit the combined $25,000 annual spending cap across the 5% bonus categories.
    • Switch to the Ink Preferred (3 points per $1 spent) until you hit its combined annual spending cap of $150,000 across all bonus categories.
    • Switch to the Ink Unlimited (1.5% cash back) for all remaining purchases).
  • Shipping:
    • Use the Ink Preferred (3 points per $1 spent) until you hit the combined annual $150,000 spending cap across all bonus categories.
    • Switch to the Ink Unlimited (1.5% cash back) for all remaining purchases.
  • Online advertising:
    • Use the Ink Preferred (3 points per $1 spent) until you hit the combined annual $150,000 spending cap across all bonus categories.
    • Switch to the Ink Unlimited (1.5% cash back) for all remaining purchases).
  • Gas:
    • Use the Ink Cash (2% cash back) until you hit the combined annual $25,000 spending cap across the 2% bonus categories.
    • Switch to the Ink Unlimited (1.5% cash back) for all remaining purchases.
  • Restaurants:
    • Use the Ink Cash (2% cash back) until you hit the combined annual $25,000 spending cap across the 2% bonus categories.
    • Switch to the Ink Unlimited (1.5% cash back) for all remaining purchases.
  • All other purchases:
    • Use the Ink Unlimited (1.5% cash back).
Note that annual spending caps are based on your account anniversary, not the calendar year.
Rewards come in the form of Chase Ultimate Rewards® points. You can redeem points as cash back at a value of 1 cent per point. But if you like to redeem points for travel, taking two additional steps can get you more value from your Chase trifecta:
  1. Transfer all of your points from the Ink Cash and Ink Unlimited to the Ink Preferred.
  2. Use your Ink Preferred points to book travel through the Chase Travel portal. That card gets you a higher rewards rate when making reservations.
You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards® points to your preferred airline and hotel partners, some of which can result in even higher rewards rates.
If you plan to stack cards, you’ll likely want to stagger when you open them. Chase’s so-called “5/24 rule” means the issuer won’t approve you for a new card if you’ve had five other approvals in the previous 24 months (and the new card counts toward that tally). Beyond that, getting one card at a time may make it easier to earn sign-up bonuses — each of these cards offers one — and let you take advantage of the individual 0% APR intro periods offered by the Cash and Unlimited cards.

When to choose a non-Chase business card

While Chase offers some of the best business credit cards on the market, other standouts may be a better fit if you want a less expensive luxury travel card or need a cash-back card with no foreign transaction fees.
Best for: Travel perks
The Capital One Venture X Business earns 2X miles on all purchases and includes lux travel benefits like lounge access and annual travel credits. Those perks plus the Venture X Business's massive welcome offer easily offset the card's $395 annual fee. (See rates and fees .) It's a cost-effective alternative to the new Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ for business travelers who don't think they'll use enough of that card's features to offset its much higher annual fee ($795).

Our pick for: No foreign transaction fees
This newly revived cash-back card is a worthy competitor to the Chase Ink Business Unlimited. The Capital One Spark Cash earns a flat 2% on all purchases vs. 1.5% for the Ink Unlimited and has an equally competitive welcome offer: Double your cash bonus from $750 to $1,500 once you spend $15,000 within 3 months of account opening. But the Spark Cash has no foreign transaction fee, whereas the Ink Unlimited charges 3% of each transaction in U.S. dollars. That difference alone makes the Spark Cash a better cash-back option for companies that travel or purchase inventory overseas. (See rates and fees .)

Frequently Asked Questions

You typically need good or excellent personal credit (a FICO score of 690+) to qualify for a Chase business credit card.
You can apply for a Chase business credit card online or by visiting a branch location. If you apply online, you may be able to be approved for your card instantly.
Chase only reports business credit card activity to consumer credit bureaus if your account is seriously delinquent. So debt on your Chase business credit card will only affect your personal credit score if you consistently fail to make your payments on time.

Methodology

NerdWallet's business credit card team selects the best small-business credit cards without outside input from partners or other business interests. We evaluate business cards based on value and simplicity, weighing fees, sign-up bonuses and reward rates, alongside perks like interest-free periods, statement credits and elite status (for travel cards). Business cards that earn the highest scores deliver the most value to the greatest number of business owners.
Notable changes to our methodology for 2025 include factoring in whether spending on employee cards earns rewards and counts toward the welcome offer requirements. We also now consider what information the card issuer reports to consumer credit bureaus. Learn how NerdWallet rates small-business credit cards.
